Without getting into any football discussion, because this thread is not about football but a comparision, comparing the Yankees storied tradition to the Cowboys is absurd.

I am not trying to ruffle feathers, there are just very few teams in any sport that should be held in the same regard as the Yankees when discussing American sports and tradition. Most football teams can not, and the Cowboys certainly can not, considering they are relatively new to the NFL.

I can agree, but baseball has been played a lot longer than football too.

it's not just about being brought up through the farm system. good trades and reasonable signings. the yankees on the other hand just go out and buy the best players and best free agents(A-Roid,Texiera,Sabathia,Burnett). It's ironic that bbgun can't stand Jerry the gm yet he roots for the Yankees. Cashman is the worst gm in the MLB. he totally neglected pitching for the last 8 or 9 years until last season when he bought the 2 best free agent pitchers. good thing he has all of George's money to throw around.

His post-season OPS is .977. That didn't just happen because he had a good post-season this year.

They traded for A-Rod, or have you not come to terms with this yet?

Significant players not acquired via free agency (on this year's championship club): A-Rod, Jeter, Cano, Posada, Pettite, Mariano Rivera, Hughes, Joba, Coke, Marte, Aceves, Bruney, Gardner, Swisher... to name a few. It's not against any rules:the Yankee organization, unlike every other team in baseball, spends their money to put a quality team on the field, and doesn't stuff it into their pockets.
