they traded for A-Roid cause Texas couldn't pay his joke of a salary anymore. every other team doesn't have the money the yankees have. let's look at the playoffs.Eldorado;3075778 said:They traded for A-Rod, or have you not come to terms with this yet?
Significant players not acquired via free agency (on this year's championship club): A-Rod, Jeter, Cano, Posada, Pettite, Mariano Rivera, Hughes, Joba, Coke, Marte, Aceves, Bruney, Gardner, Swisher... to name a few. It's not against any rules:the Yankee organization, unlike every other team in baseball, spends their money to put a quality team on the field, and doesn't stuff it into their pockets.

Twins payroll: 67 million
Angels payroll: 119 million
Phillies payroll: 111 million
Yankees payroll: 208 million
baseball needs a salary cap(a real one)
they spend it cause the only way they know how to win right now is to atleast double there opponents payroll.Wonderboyromo;3075788 said:Wahhhhhh.
The Yankees have money. They spend it. Are they supposed to just tuck it under Steinbrenners bed and not use it? They aren't breaking rules.

A-Roid was a chump from game 4 of the 2004 alcs through 2008 in the postseason. you fans disgust me.Wonderboyromo;3075793 said:And the Phillies and Angels have a lot more money than that to spend. They don't spend it. The Yankees can't be blamed for that. They spend the money they make. Good for them.
I like how you're just going to ignore how wrong you were, though. A-Rod has been fine in the playoffs throughout his career and is no more of a cheater than lots and lots of other players. But don't let something silly like facts get in your way.

Romo hasn't exactly been a stud in the postseason either. He's making a pretty penny, too. Do you disgust you, too?Rampage;3075795 said:A-Roid was a chump from game 4 of the 2004 alcs through 2008 in the postseason. you fans disgust me.

Rampage;3075765 said:it's not just about being brought up through the farm system. good trades and reasonable signings. the yankees on the other hand just go out and buy the best players and best free agents(A-Roid,Texiera,Sabathia,Burnett). It's ironic that bbgun can't stand Jerry the gm yet he roots for the Yankees. Cashman is the worst gm in the MLB. he totally neglected pitching for the last 8 or 9 years until last season when he bought the 2 best free agent pitchers. good thing he has all of George's money to throw around.
bbgun;3075799 said:Um, your analogy would only make sense if George arrogantly appointed himself as the GM, and we both know that's never been the case. Funny how you didn't ***** about $ when Cashman was making bad investments year after year. It's similarly hilarious (hypocritical?) that you root for a team with the league's second highest payroll. Oh those poor, poverty-stricken Red Sox. How will they ever compete??

Romo is a football player and puts his body on the line every Sunday. A-Roid needs to put ped's in his body to make 3 plays a game in the field and take 4 at-bats a game. he's also getting paid 230 million dollars less than A-Roid. I respect football players a lot more as athletes than baseball players.Eldorado;3075797 said:Romo hasn't exactly been a stud in the postseason either. He's making a pretty penny, too. the Redsox have the 4th highest payroll and yet it's still over 80 million less than the yankees. enjoy those bought champion$hips.bbgun;3075799 said:Um, your analogy would only make sense if George arrogantly appointed himself as the GM, and we both know that's never been the case. ok this coming from a person who is "barely a yankee fan". whatever that means. follow those champion$hipsWonderboyromo;3075801 said:lol, he's a Red Sox fan?

Wonderboyromo;3075811 said:Definitely never said I was "barely" a Yankee fan. I straight-up said I'm not.
It's funny though. The Red Sox spend a ton of money and have been consistently close to the Yankees until this year. And they will be close again, soon.
And the roids. L. O. L. Papi. Manny. And Youk definitely isn't on 'roids
