For 2023 to be a success, the Cowboys must reach the NFCGC

They may have been the 3rd best team but there was not exactly a massive gulf between them and the 49ers and Eagles. Take out a Dak pick or two and they were likely to enter a championship round matchup with Philly that would have been anyone’s game.

Dallas has won 24 regular season games over the last 2 years. That means they are a very good team. Expecting an NFCCG appearance (especially considering that the roster is at least marginally better this year) is not unreasonable.
No, expecting that is not unreasonable because some expect that every season.

The roster being marginally better has yet to be proven and the depth on this team at critical positions like OL and WR is likely to get tested. And they still have a ? at PK.

I think some fans get too caught up in winning the Super Bowl and miss the big picture. The NFL provides only 17 weeks + of entertainment for the fans of each team.
Enjoy the ride, the highs and low, and of course hope your team makes it to the big game and hopefully wins the Super Bowl.

Only 1 team can be champions and only 4 teams can earn the right to compete to get there.

As an Eagle fan, I certainly can understand the frustration that comes with falling short, but for me it’s about enjoying the 17 week journey as opposed to focusing too much on the ultimate prize.

I took this one step further and divided the season into 17 mini-seasons where each game stood on its own without any playoff effect.

I used to be a watch them to see them win fan and was miserable to be around but I taught myself just to enjoy the entertainment aspects of the game, regardless of the teams or outcomes. I love watching a good football game and seeing some young men perform some truly amazing athletic stunts.

Most are just happy to have a nice regular season.

This place specifically has reinforced that opinion ten fold for me

Very few here want real change. It's business as usual, just how they like it.
Having a very good team is something to look forward to. A guy that posts nothing but negatives when the team is good is a sick ticket.

That's probably true if you are a fan of teams like the Browns, Cardinals or Texans. Not the Cowboys.
But the Cowboys are no longer a class football organization. That’s part of our our illustrious history of course but unfortunately not our current status .

Perhaps it’s going to take a couple more decades of mediocrity and fans from prior eras to die off for the reality of what this ownership has done to this once proud franchise .

There’s not going to be any real change that most of us truly want until Jethro is tied to a bed or 6 feet under.

How can we demand more from this dysfunctional organization when winning championships isn’t the highest priority ?

It’s truly sad what this once proud and classy franchise has become .

Sad? This will be the 3rd year in a row with double digit wins. A great time to be a fan. The third best odds out of the gate is a great place to start.

12 wins a year isn't mediocrity.

Right, especially for a dysfunctional ownership who’s priorities are out of whack.

Unfortunately we still have a segment of fans who don’t realize this isn’t the same championship caliber franchise many of us came to know in earlier eras.

we’ve been at this point for quite some time. Are they just noticing or putting something out there cuz they need content.

When was the last time that the team had 12 win seasons 3 years in a row?

This ownership built the current team with their own plan. They seem to know what they are doing.
