TO should've just body-slammed Hall. If you're going to get a fine, might as well make it worth the time. ;)

Only no one apologizes and says 'I am going to move on" after accidental spraying anyone. The gravity of the matter was plain for everyone to see.

Accidental sprayers say' oops, sorry, didn't mean it". Those sprayed on accidentally don't react with the outrage Hall did, even if they've been toasted all night.

This line of defense is beneath you...surreally so.

It is not beneath them, it has been going on for 12 pages at least.

Now I know how O.J. got off. I never could quite really figure it out before, but it is simple to see now.

And some of the posters that are decrying Owens would have probably cheered.

What "outrage"?

I didn't see any of that during the game. That would be generally what you could expect.

Oh, I see, you call his sibilate noises through the media "outrage"?

I think it is good he got fined because it was a disgusting act that really is unjustified.

But I can assume with great certainty that Owens probably didn't hall off and launch a gob on him as bad as Hall is implying. His reaction is too reactive and dramatic. It is almost as if he is trying too hard to curry sympathy.

Yes, I think the media has a lot to do with it. I also think he has invited it.

I take it you don't?

So, you think there was nothing at all strange about him going outside his house to do situps in his driveway? Everything he does will be under a magnifying glass and guess what, he invited that scrutiny. It's not like they have had an agenda to slander and libel him. He's the fool who threw 2 different QBs under the bus.

Come on man, I was born at night but it wasn't last night.

Give him the benefit of the doubt? For an admission? Oh wait, he retracted that later to clarify it. Yeah, after he learned there's no video footage of it.

When the scrutiny of him is ridiculous I've defended him. Go back and look if you have doubts. He's trying to retract an admission. Excuse me for my skepticism given his past. I gave up believing in knights in shining armor and slaying dragons a long, long time ago.

He wants me to believe he's a good guy? It's real simple, don't be a jerk. Don't tell the press you sleep through meetings and film sessions. Don't draw taunting flags. Don't open your pie hole and change your feet. Don't tell me you're leery of "snitches." Don't spit on other players.

If he'd do his job and shut the hell up with all of this crap I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't earned it. Him wearing the uniform doesn't mean autonomy is granted. I refuse to be a hypocrite who will bag on Commanders fans for defending Sean Taylor blindly and then blindly defend one of my own players for the same act.

If you have no qualms about it, then by all means go right ahead. Integrity means more to me than that. Hence why I said I don't back my children blindly when they are in the wrong. I'm not going to enable and rationalize stupidity.

It is the same for everything, 2 people look at the same exact situation differently.

The man was clearly asked by Deion, "Hall is claiming that you spit on him, did you".

What is he apologizing for? Why is saying it was more of an accident later?

You know LTN I like you and generally enjy reading your posts, but your habit of calling anyone who does not agree with your hate of TO a "sniffer" is getting ludicrous. Especially since according to your own definition you are a TG "sniffer" because he hung the moon for you correct?

Seriously why not try a debate without the childish names. We know you hate TO, we know you want him gone. Belittling people who do not scream CUT HIM everytime he ties his shoes wrong does nothing positive for the conversation

Well, I like you too, so I will tell you what.

If I can come here without seeing the word "Haters" re every critique of Owens, or Carter, or Carp, or anyone, you have my word I will refrain from the very annoying 'sniffers'.

Yes, "sniffers" is an intentional reminder to those who label that no one enjoys being tagged on their opinions, and I am happy you said what you just did.

I happen to find "hater" just as repellant as you do "sniffer".

So let's strike a 'gentlemans' compromise' and desist from using the labels.

I'll hold up MY end.

Let's see those who call "hater" every turn do the same.

Deal?

PS Sure, I am a TG and Bill sniffer....BIG time :)

People were just as outraged when Romonowski did the same thing and even though it was on film he did not hauk up a big one, but he did spit in the guys face.

Ima put it like this, If a man spits on me in person I hit him, I scream and holler the moment it happens and make a fool out of myself. I don't sit on it all game and the whine to who ever will listen. Where was the outrage when it happened? even if there was no spitting on camera no man on earth is gonna just take a spit in the eye and be like "hmm that was uncalled for" and go about his business.

I think you are failing to see his point.

Like you said he was told "Hall is claiming that you spit on him, did you". He didnt say "hall says you intentionally spit on him.

So is it at least POSSIBLE that TO knew when he was yelling that spit flew out of his mouth So he replied yes I am sorry about that? is it 1% possible that since the NFLN guys did not tell him Hall was saying it was on purpose that maybe just maybe he didnt know Hall was saying it was intentional instead of just spit in the heat of a screaming match?

I guess you still don't understand the difference. I wasn't calling the other poster dumb because I thought he was dumb. I was using the quote he said to me as evidence of how it is silly to say such things in a debate. That is not calling the kettle black.

In the spitting situation, it is also not a case of the pot calling the kettle black. There are basically four things we know about the situation.

1. D. Hall claims Owens spit in his face.

2. Owens apologized for spitting in Hall's face but did not specify whether it was an accidental spray or an intentional spit.

3. Owens later claims it was an accidental spray, not an intentional spit.

4. There is no video evidence of an intentional spit despite knowing exactly when the event occurred and having video of the players during that time.

Am I ignoring some kind of fact? If I am, then obviously it is a situation of the pot calling the kettle black. If I am not, then obviously it is not such a situation. Please, inform me of some fact I am ignoring.

man you just don't get it at all.
the pot thing isn't even funny cause you used it improperly because ogt said it in retort to someone who said the exact same words to him. It was satire and you just don't get it.
TO never said he did it on purpose all he did was apoligize when asked if he spit on Hall. I don't get how you run with the rest of the stuff you keep spewing.

I was referring to Hall. And if I recall correctly, J.J. Stokes at least reacted with a shove. Same with Michael Pittman.

Two shows on The Ticket today, The Musers and the Throw Down both said that the incident happened earlier, I beleive after 3 plays.

I have read two Falcons message boards and I have read some things people have said on this board about Hall getting in Owens' face and hitting him late.

I could see someone acting the way you said you would act, but I could also see someone bottling that anger up inside and keep waiting for that one hit (clean or dirty) to get Pay Back.

And of course, when that doesnt work out and the guy that spits on you burns you for 2 TDs...well it's time for Plan B, go public for the Sympathy vote.

I didn't grant integrity to the media, or the NFL, or anyone else for that matter, so you missed the point entirely.
