I've explained this to you in multiple threads now. You can keep ignoring the explanation.

You have explained your version of it but most of us saw what he said. Now all of a sudden it was an accident. Same old same old, TO defender to the rescue and to hell of what he said right after the fact. Now he wants to change some of the story BS.

As I stated in the other thread, it is one possible explanation. It's a perfectly reasonable one, at that. Whether it is the correct one or not, we'll never know. Because that perfectly reasonable explanation exists, however, it's useless to claim he needs to fined or not, unless you know the truth. Because you don't know the truth, you can't claim that he needs to fined, much less suspended.

That's all I'm saying. I don't which side to believe to tell you the truth. But what gets me is that there is no film of the incident. I would think that if he hauled off and intentionally spit in his face, it would clearly available on film. However, if it was an unintentional spray in the face, it WOULD NOT be clear on film.

Reading this thread, looks like both possibilities exist, Bill just said the league will take action, and that he's aware of what it is, and that it will be strong.

So whatever.

He said he's aware of the action and that it will be strong?

Bill also just said he wouldn't be suspended.

Good to hear, that would be excessive for the league to do that considering others who have done the same were giving only fines.

Yeah. Bill said he already knew what the league was gonna do, and that Goodell had been stiff with behavioral penalties, and that this wouldn't be any different.

NFLN said it is a 35k fine. No suspension.
That seems pretty hefty for not having film of the incident and it being one man's word against another's.

they were gonna review the "coaches" film so maybe they did see something in it. I imagine we will never know, and now we can all argue some more and some will say that the fine amount clearly shows he did it and meant it.

Maybe that is the case. Or maybe they never got film of it and decided to fine him anyway. I'd imagine ESPN would be doing everything humanly possible to get their hands on film. If it's available, they'll get it.

That's big considering it wasn't caught on tape. But Owens did admit that he did it. Or is he saying now that it was a accident?

Just glad he didn't get suspended.

No suspension was warranted.

$35k is a bit excessive also.

good god, how much of our own population doesn't even make $35k a year.

we pay far too much attention and $ to the athlete.

we'd have a lot more arrogant teachers who think every childs education spins around them yet they hold no responsibility for the childs success.

in the end, if you want better teachers, pay more. that will attract the smarter people in the end. i'm NOT bashing teachers now, one day i hope to be one after i retire. but if i can make twice or more the salary NOT teaching, why consider it as an option when the system takes a dump on them all the time?

could you imagine our teacher pulling up in a ferrari with a throng of babes following him inside and cameras going off the entire time?

The fine seems a bit excessive, compared to the previous spitting fines and due to no video evidence.

I suspect the new commissioner is trying to make a statement without having to suspend TO.

A sort of a compromise to say - hey, for an incident with no video evidence, I still gave a record fine for a spitting violation.

I'll take it. :)
