For the Milton haters. You don't know QB

Milton's development from a year ago has been encouraging to see...even a surprise to some. Then, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a football. He's obviously been working hard, getting good coaching, making better "finesse" throws, and appearing more comfortable overall. May this trajectory continue!

Man.......this could get interesting
***Milton is a 2028 free agent
***Only $17M of Dak's 2028 salary is guaranteed ( Cowboys exercise option by the 5th day of the 2026 league year)

Tons of questions if Milton proves he has starting potential
**** No way Dak will play the 2028 season w/o more guaranteed money
**** He either walks or gets a new extension
**** Trade Milton or offer a new contract?

I don’t follow. What is your suggestion for 2028?

10-4. I went back and looked and you were definitely talking Howell. Not sure if he's worth very much to anyone...if he can't crack our top 2.

I mean, I think on some teams, he could make a decent QB2. Im thinking someone like Atlanta or Carolina who might need him. Not saying we'd get much, but hey, a 6 for him could be useful in a later trade

Yeah, it's a little premature for the I told you so's on Milton.

If you were to trace his whole draft and development journey I think you would come to a more reasonable conclusion that "It's good to see Milton FINALLY resembling an NFL backup."

And leave it at that.

jmo
He looks like a starter.

Hate it but Mafah is gone. He's just the odd man out. No room. Your right, Howell won't make it to the PS. You cut him or trade him for a bag of chips. His salary is 2.5 mil.
Mafah isn't gone. He will either be on the roster or the practice squad.

In a "real" game...he had nearly the same stas as Dak in the same amount of time.

It most certainly was a "meaningless" game that Jerry wanted stats for Dak.

If Milton does indeed suck..then you're saying Dak does too.
I'll stick with my prediction he'll be out of the league in 2-3 years

Honestly, I'd shop him. We could use an extra draft pick imo.
We would regret that for the next 12 years. Quarterbacks are gold. When you find a good'n you ride with him. Milton is now just scratching the surface off his potential. The man is a beast.

Full context matters. Milton did it against dudes that will be on the couch soon. Selling insurance etc I'm being realistic but still proud to see him improve. I'd love to see him do this against top competition.
Yes, Milton has only seen second-string competition, but he is also playing with the likes of Shelton and Pete and performing. Ballers ball. In my opinion, Milton has the it factor. The game is slowing down for him and he is making plays. He is unstoppable on 3 and 1 and 4th and one. He can come into the game and give Dallas a run-pass option that has been missing since Dak has had injuries. Fundamentally, I do not trust Dak. He is not a baller when the nail-biting begins. He has Danny White and Craig Morton written all over him. Develop Milton and get ready for the future. Dak is never going to win the important games. He is a front runner feasting on the weak and collapsing like a cheap umbrella when the rain comes. This is not a casual observation. Dak is a mid-level QB. He has been a great face of the team but do not let that confuse you with a balling QB like Mahomes, Brady, Staubach or Aikman . Heck he isn't as good as my all time Cowboys hero, Mr. Don Meredith.

What I hope is our team isn't dumb enough(as they have been in the past) to never play the backup QBs in a real game to see what we have. We had to keep Trance an extra year while playing Rush in 2024. Beyond stupid. Those 8 games Rush started would've given us a clear pic as to what Trance was. Dumb beyond dumb.
He was called Trance for a reason. They knew he wasn’t the answer.

Told you Cowboybish Milton will be a starter, and hopefully for the Pokes. qb rating over 151 last night 2 te passes and a td run. He man is a baller with unusual talents throwing and running. Now that there is a coaching staff in place, the sky is the limit. You all wrong about Shelton also. He will be a long term starter as well. Go Pokes!

After 2 preseason games? This is a joke or click bait. All we need is another brain dead QB following the one that starts now. You can’t make this stuff up.

From romo haters, to dak haters and now Milton haters...

The guy hasn't even started one real game and people are taking sides and digging in

So what is Milton playoff record

:D

Williams was never considered a runner. No way.
But he could and he did. I watched him use his legs when needed and Tampa designed a ton of roll outs, boot legs for him. He could do it all. Joe Gibbs got ahold of him later and helped hone his pocket presence. Doug talks about this.

I don't ever remember Doug Williams having wheels certainly not like Milton has.
He did. But didn't use those wheels unless the play called for it. He was a big dude too. Thick in comparison to Milton. Doug was whatever the team needed. If he needed to run he could. His arm talent does comp to Milton. For what it's worth.

Again, I'm not talking about Milton. I'm talking about Howell.

It's not the game slowing down .

Shotty taught him how to throw a football. He couldn't hit a receiver standing right in front of him last year.

That is a wild overreaction. Lol

I suppose Camden Brown is the next Randy Moss, too?
