So you really don't have any faith in Dak? You are going to dismiss everything you have seen up to this point as "just preseason?". Or have you been watching? I'm not saying he has been flawless...he has just been closer to that than any other QB in the league and has probably got more snaps than the majority if the league. Behind this offense, he is going to put up points in bunches... especially against the Giants. Eli to OBJ may yield points, but they won't be able to keep up with Dallas.

I deal in realities. And reality is that rookie QBs, no matter who they are, have rough patches. They just do.

Dak is much better than I thought. I admit that. But he's a rookie. And even the best rookies struggle their first years. Luck, Winston, etc. They all do. The teams that have played young QBs and succeeded are teams with stellar defenses. Wilson was successful as a rookie. He also had a big time defense backing him up. Flacco was successful. The Ravens defense was also very good.

Could this team still win the division? Sure. But IMO Prescott isn't ready yet to perform at a level you'd expect Romo to. Teams will now game plan Prescott, they will find his tendencies, etc. Prescott doesn't have the ability yet or the feel that Romo has built up where he can make line calls, adjust the offense up to the last second on the play clock, etc. That was an effective tool for us. Prescott may get to that point but to expect a rookie to have that is just a bit of blind homerism IMO.

And in the end, it's preseason. You can poo poo it all you want but teams and players have looked great in the preseason only to fall on their faces once the real bullets started flying. We had a prime example last year in our own division when Bradford looked like the best QB in the league in that third preseason game where they carved up the Packers. The media was anointing the Eagles as a legit NFC contender after their preseason last year.

And what happened? I've learned to not put a ton of reliability in the preseason.

I'm talking as far as wins and losses.

It's not about wins and losses though. Their fist team offense hasn't scored a point in 9 quarters. They can't block. They can't move the ball. They won last night and it meant nothing, they couldn't get past the 50 when it was 1st on 1st vs the Jets, that's a problem.

Of course, on the flip side, our defensive line hasn't wowed anyone either. But if our DTs can create pressure up the middle on Eli their offense will go nowhere.

Don't worry, Dallas defensive line will make the Giants offensive line look all pro

Against Seattle in the dress rehearsal game our DL looked like zombies with their arms up in the air, lumbering around trying to chase down Wilson and his backup. It was comical watching both QBs run circles around us.

Andrew luck was successful and made playoffs his rookie year and the Colts defense was trash. They had just gone 2-14 the year before

And the day Eli can move like that I'll give you a like.

Even as stationary as Eli is the Cowboys have had issues pressuring and sacking him over the years even when they had Ware. Eli probably won't need to move around much against us we don't have a pass rush.

Hopefully our interior pass rush is much better. People tend to forget we would get some pressure outside. Our interior was crap allowing QBs to step up and buy time

if we allow Eli to get comfortable in the pocket like we have in the past he'll pick us apart. If Cruz makes the team and can still run we're going to have our hands full with him and OBJ.

Molly is getting chunky. But she can turn it around with a little diet and exercise. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like peach cobbler, some like apple pie.

right! If I'm the Giants Offensive line coach, who are we really worried about? No edge guys that for sure. No need to keep extra dudes in to pass protect, it's not like Russell is gonna sack you lol.

Now if I'm the Giants Dline coach. Vernon on smith and JPP on free. We better help Free out.
I think our dline is going to look against the Giants. That's not to say they are good.

JDay, one of my favorite blokes, let us never take anyone for granted, nor underestimate them. Especially, we, with a team with a lame defense and a rookie QB.
Fair enough. Nevertheless, the Giants have their own problems and I suspect their issues will end up being more pronounced than ours. Our dline should win it's share of battles against them.... I think it will be enough.

jday, I can envision that, I see the same "it" factor, but until Dak proves it when it counts, a large majority will remain in doubt.
Dak passes the eye test regardless if its preseason,, to me.
His confidence level is established, which in itself for a rook QB in this league is huge.
I think if he uses his legs at the right moment that will slow down the rush some, bang Zeke and Morris, take our shots with Dez. FIND Witten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are right. Totally forgot that.

Right and Luck didn't have a veteran qb there to work with him during training camp because Peyton was already gone. And let's not forget our own nfc East darling rg3 made the playoffs that same year as luck. Neither of them had good defenses and our offense blows away what either of them worked with in 2012. It's not so farfetched to say that if Dak is good we could make the playoffs with him as a rookie.

I get it...I really do. But I believe the Cowboys have the horses to win each and every race. Rather or not they do I suspect depends on the coaches.
