how about he come out and apologize and show some damn remorse before we start talking about an appeal. i hate the arrogance of brady and that entire organization. i know it pains their fans that they will never be seen in the same light as the cowboys, niners, and steelers dynasties.

Too late for remorse now, he just just keep denying it. He should have just said that he prefers the balls at the lowest limit and didn't realize they went under. He would be in a lot better position today if he did. An apology might have a gone long ways at the beginning, but it is too late now IMO.

yeah you're probably right it just seems like that's what Goodell expects to see from everybody else who gets in trouble. shame b/c he has his ex-teammates (bruschi/woody) going at it on espn everyday b/c of his cowardice.

The more he keeps fighting this the worst he's gonna look. Frankly, I could care less for that organization. They always get way with cheating and only get a slap on the wrist. Yet players like Hardy get punished much worst on the same charges.

Agreed. I never liked losing to the niners or steelers back in the day but at least I knew it was done fair and square. Joe Montana would rip my heart out and I'd say thank you.

I heard a guy on the ticket the other day that said Troy used to deflate balls by 2-2.5 psi. Who gives a crap. They all do it.

They all do it? I don't believe it. I also don't believe Troy did anything at that time to cheat.

every other player who gets in trouble with goodell is required to go thru the whole dog and pony show of going up to the NYC NFL offices and apologizing to goodell face-to-face. goodell is really big on showing REMORSE for your actions. if this weasel continues to blow this off and deny his involvement then he doesn't deserve an appeal. if he gets it reduced without an apology then I know Kraft has Goodell in his pocket. 25 games missed for Hardy with no conviction, Pryor gets 5 games for a freaking free tattoo in college? where is the consistency? i'm serious i'm still not over that dez catch nonsense, if they reduce his penalty I'm going to lose all faith in the NFL brand.

I feel the same way but what are we going to do? Boycott the NFL? I'm not.

If he is smart, he should take the 4 games and call it a day unless he wants to risk his personal texts coming out. I am not sure if they would in an appeal but if it were to go further, they could be............

I think the problem is that in this case the standard used was "more likely than not", which doesn't actually mean he did anything wrong, thus demanding remorse isn't really warranted. The NFL decided to use the civil standard for judgement, which is the way it is because the government has to have a way to resolve disputes between individuals whether either party has any compelling evidence or not. However, that is done by an impartial judge or jury, not by a law firm that does big business with the NFL. So, the NFL standard sounds fair, but without an impartial arbiter it is simply a subjective decision by the NFL and a partner. To me it looks like a railroad. I could go into more detail, but there is so much hatred for the Patriots I don't think anyone is listening to the other side of the story. PFT has already presented the salient points that support this position. There is an old saying that an infinite number of half-truths don't add up to one whole truth, and that pretty much sums up my feelings on this.

Its blasphemy because both Hardy and Brady is charged with the same offense of "conduct detrimental to the NFL." Hardy didn't get charged because of domestic violence, which charges was dropped. He was charged exactly what Brady was charged with. Yet his suspension is for 25 games while Brady is only for 4. What travesty and a slap on the face to the integrity of professional sports. Goddell needs to be fired right now!

That directly contradicts what Aikman said -- and what Joe Montana said he and Aikman talked about privately -- after the scandal broke back in January.

It is always good when it starts "I heard a guy"

If we had our balls deflated a little do we go onto the NFC Championship game last season?

1. Does DeMarco fumble?
2. Does that ball come out of Dez's grip?

For me it's just the fact that he cheated and lied. they went easy on Tom Brady

Or how about this one. Does that ball slip out of Tonys hand on the field goal in Seattle all those yrs ago that started that tony is a choker narrative

Remember that ball was claimed to have been excessively oiled and was controlled and specificallly chosen by the home team ball boy. They have since changed how the kicking balls are handled, but I don't remember Seattle getting punished for anything.

And the idiots in Foxboro will cheer him like crazy when he steps back on the field.
Their 5th game should be in Philadelphia.

Yea I was taught by my parents when I was like...I don't know, five?...that this isn't an excuse. I mean it really is such a childish argument.

Some people loyal to the Patriots say that deflating the balls gave Brady no advantage whatsoever.
It was proven that deflating the balls is a negative thing for the passing game. It's just a matter of comfort.
