For those who don't think Drew makes the HOF

Heh, not bad. I like it.

If Bledsoe Surpasses 50,000 passing yards is in IN the HOF with or without a superbowl win in Dallas.

IF he gets a SB win in Dallas he is IN whether he hits 50,000 yards or not.

IF Bledsoe does BOTH, he is a LOCK FIRST Ballot pick for the HOF.

Bledsoe is one of the top 10 passers of ALL TIME in the NFL.

I would say his chances of making it in the HOF by EITHER the 50,000+ yard mark OR SB win OR Both is: 75% chance it will happen. He only needs to play another 3 years and he should have the yardage mark.

When he breaks the 50,000 mark, he will be in the TOP 5 of ALL TIME...

Yeah, that's HOF material.....

Good job hanging it on an IF.

Top 5 in stats only. Not a top 5 QB by any wild stretch.

Come on now Hostile...I know you're a smart cat. You have to realize that
Stats do not happen on their own.

Dan Marino proved that statistical rankings warrant a HOF vote. Most would agree he was one of the best QB's of all time. How many championships did he lead the Dolphins to win??

Only went once...Lost....Never back again...

If we do not consider stats and their impact to placement in the "all time" scope of HOF consideration then Dan Marino has no place in the HOF.

Considering Bledsoe a HOF candidate will also be an arguable topic for either "yes" or "no" until he does in fact make it in OR not.

However, you must consider his place in NFL history WHEN he retires.
I am simply saying that if he plays another 3 years and retires after eclipsing the 50,000 yard mark, then IMO he absolutley is going in the HOF.

How can he not be elected when he will rank as the #5 QB in NFL history??

Won't happen...He'll be in..Maybe not the first ballot but he'll get in.

Throw in a championship in Dallas and you've got the mix for a "Sure Bet".

Bled ain't getting in. If all it took was numbers or yards, Vinny would be a shoo-in too. Ditto for Archie Manning or Stabler.
Get your facts straight - Archie Manning stats SUCKED

I've never maintained nor tried to maintain that they do.

You're making my point for me. I have maintained throughout the thread that HOFers are impact players. Marino was an impact player. Do you deny this? Are you trying to say only his career stats earn him inclusion?

I'm sorry KT that is simply ridiculous. Dan Marino was never an "iffy" proposition as a HOFer. Bledsoe is. In order for him to make it it will have to be on his career stats. For you not to know this you'd have to be oblivious to how good Dan Marino was. I suppose that is possible, but I find it strange.

Considering Bledsoe a HOF candidate will also be an arguable topic for either "yes" or "no" until he does in fact make it in OR not.

Again, this is an IF. Let's suppose he never throws another pass in his career. Is he in? No. Most likely he is not. At the same point in his career would that have been said of Marino? Of course not.

They simply aren't similar. If you're only case is to build on an IF, ask yourself how strong is your case?

I've never said he won't be if he achives those stats. I've said assuming he has those stats guaranteed is weak.

I did say he's not a top 5 QB of all time except in stats if he achives them. I'll stand by that. No way anyone with half a brain can tell me he is one of the top 5 QBs of all time.

Again, it all hangs on IFs. Every bit of it.

So, if it's based on SB performance, when was Dan Marino ever top 5 (other than stats). Drew has more playoff wins than Dan Marino.

Is that the only way to impact the game?

Come on.

Factually smoked that one! LOL

No anger - just factually owned Manning, Stablers, VT stats - they suck and no where near Hall status.

At least you weren't fence sitting this one, just flat out wrong side of fence this time!

I cant believe for a second that anyone is arguing that Marino is not worthy of being in the HOF. Thats just insane.

Bled and Vin are very similar--a lot of yards, picks, Pro Bowls, etc. How many HOF qbs, in their prime, lost their job to seventh round picks like Brady? He won't get to the Hall based on his tenure in NE. He won't get there based on his mediocre performance in Buffalo. All that's left is Dallas. If there were a Hall of Very Good, he'd be a cinch.

Wrong on VT and Bledsoe

Drew 4 Pro Bowls, 234 Td'S and 184Ints
VT 2 Pro Bowls 268 Td's - 256 Ints ### Nfl CAREER LEADER!!!!

You realize Drew had a 4500 yard pro bowl season in 2002 in Buffalo?

techanically he lost his job to a sixth round pick, and just like Maddox in PIT, when a guy is winning games, youjust dont replace him, because your starting QB is healthy.

and BLed and Vinny arent the same, Bledsoe has had more success than Vinny, and much less faliure, he has about 3 ad years at buffalo, Vinny has been on more team than that.

Bledsoe> Vinny....and thats a fact

Vin is like nine years older than Bled. Therefore he's had many more opportunities to throw picks. How many picks will Bled have if he plays 'til 42? Had Glenn not gone down last year, ancient Vin would have reached 4,000 yards easily. Bled is now a mercenary. He's many things, but he's not a leader. That's criterion number 1 for HOF induction.

If Drew plays to 42 he'll have 65,000 yards and still have less ints than VT. YOU do realize Vt has the NFL career record for most int's.....
