The fact that this is a major issue, is only because it's a high profile athlete. If it was you or me. This case would have been done over.

If it was you or me, we'd be sitting in jail right now... only Vick's high profile has kept that from happening...

Vick is a piece of garbage, and should do jail time for this... period...

If there's insufficient evidence to prove Vick's guilt in this, he'll go free too... no double standard there...

There are so many flat out ignorant statements in this thread I wouldn't know where to begin. With some of these folks their ignorance is a tad suprising-- with others it just piles on previous ignorant statements.

There's a poster or two in here that I have always held in VERY high regard who have astonished me with their defense of this utterly contemptible practice...

These are posters I like so much that I'm finding myself biting my tongue, holding back on what I really feel about those who defend such behavior... I think we all know that's not like me... I find myself hoping that these folks walk away from this argument, before my opinion of them is forever altered for the worse...

If Vick is charged, Goodell will suspend him. Vick needs to clean up his act or he will find himself at home. His behavior is embarrassing, and I wonder if the Falcons regret trading away backup QB Schaub.

....and not drafting Quinn. I was concerned for the Falcons with some of the recent occurances involving Vick. Where there is smoke, we often find fire. They should have had a back up plan. Let's face it, Vick has not been that great of a QB anyway. They better hope Joey Harrington will find Petrino's offense one that he will excel in.

Why do so many people have an ambivalent attitude toward whistleblowers/snitch?

Doesn't people want others to disclose known illegal activities or crime? I bet if some one close to you was a victim of crime, you'd want witnesses to come forward or some one who knew the perpetrator to come forward, don't you?

So what severity of crime meets your criteria in order for some one to come forward with knowledge of a crime or perpetrator? And it's ok to be a snitch only when it benefits you?

How are you going to take care of it? Will you be the investigator, jury, judge, and excusioner?

Also, wouldn't you want a crime to be solved as quickly possible? Which would be the case if a snitch stepped up to the plate to point the finger at the criminal. If it's a complicated case, it could take years to solve it.
