He plays on the same level he did those 8 years in the NFL before this season. Now that the talent level around him decreased its just more simple to behold.
Amen. There is no such thing as putting enough talent around him to win a championship. At some point the QB is going to face adversity and have to make some plays. He's always going to fail there because he doesn't have the talent and conversely the confidence.

Jerry and Stephen wanted to draft Paxton Lynch…that should tell you all you need to know about their ability to evaluate talent.

Dak is a system QB that needs playmakers at every level to succeed. He has been the beneficiary of having studs at RB, WR and TE; very good offensive lines; competent run game and defenses that force opponents to play from behind; yet has been unable to deliver in the big games with equally-matched teams. He is unable to elevate the play of those around him…I think we all remember that bewildered look in the GB game.

Jerry has coddled Dak to no end: Dak was gifted the job of starting QB, he never earned it via competition; Jerry never brought in a legit QB to challenge Dak for playing time; the offense was changed to take pressure off of Dak with short to intermediate passes. Never once has Jerry openly criticized Dak, instead giving him a free pass with no accountability to get better.

So now, Jerry has taken away the supporting players; the offensive line has regressed and the defense is no longer dominant, so Dak is now playing from behind…and the results are obvious.

The future is bleak..a team that builds exclusively through the draft has just given up what will most likely be a high 4th round pick for a WR who will be lucky to see the field; the cap hits for the QB and WR will preclude acquiring quality FAs to shore up positions of weakness. Add to that poor coaching and schemes that do nothing to provide a competitive advantage and exploit weaknesses. How many times have we seen other teams create mismatches and dictate play?

Jerry will blame injuries on the poor performance; profess that he has faith in and loves the talent on this team; and in-short do nothing. I would suspect that any new coaching hires will be uninspiring and inadequate…other teams will improve while Dallas remains stagnant, mired in mediocrity, under the misguided and incompetent leadership of the FO.

...no, thats the conundrum occurring when player gets paid.

Either its elemental or fate is entwined to balance things out. Either case, its really weird seeing it happen through the years.

Every "made man" on this team has immediately tanked into worthlessness. Every single one.

Better to invest in young, hungry players...rather than finance gaudy golden parachutes for greedy opportunists with no heart.

They act like Dak was ever good and wasn't on a team surrounded by talent.

Now the talent has finally caught up to this guy who has been baby-sat his whole career here, Jerry's Jason Garrett of QBs training program and he's been exposed as the mediocre talent he has always been.

Dallas is now where the Commanders and Giants were, basically the whole time Dak has been around the Cowboys. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Dak is looking like the Sam Howell's of the NFL. And his fanboys are complaining... They fail to see the irony in it all..
They also forget that before he broke his ankle, he lost to Mono King and the Jets. He's had like 5 huge games against very good teams in 9 years. Only in Dallas does that equate to the highest paid player in the NFL.

If I can't have a Super Bowl, I cheer for the draft pick. I don't usually have to make the choice so early in the season, but here we are. There is nothing left to do but sit back and enjoy Jerry's weekly national humiliation and hope for the highest draft pick possible.
I'm thinking we may be in the top 10 for the pick when this is over lol.

Who took over for Dak suck Trashcott. Blame Dak for throwing in the towel, not Cooper.
You simply can't cover up 46 yards passing.......nice try. Cooper knows you love him.

Was fine not paying dak as I said many times, think it’s ridiculous he got a no trade clause again and I’d be fine moving on from if it signaled a clear path and direction the organization. Get rid of him and I’d still be here watching the team.

That said there a few posters who literally only post about this player- it’s really weird. It’s like a single white female movie level obsession, they don’t comment at all about other cowboys things or if they do it always circles back to dak. Just weird behavior. Then they disappear for months only to come back and only post about the same player.

Weird schtick.

I'm going with lack of talent combined with lack of talent around him to make up for his lack of talent.

Basically, lack of talent all around.
I think there is something even deeper here. How does a team go from 12-5 last year to historically bad?

This team is so bad that you could take our last few games speed the film up 4x and playt he Benny Hill theme song and it would feel just right.

The team feels like a circus and usually a circus has a carnival barker leading it.

Players looking to get paid versus players who just got paid. Nobody cares and it shows.

Overshown, Lewis, Kendricks, Gholston, Lawson, Osa.

Dowdle, Luepke, Smith, Aubrey, Tolbert.

These are about the only players that could be considered positive performers for this team. Most of these guys are playing for their next contract. They are being drug down by the garbage that is supposed to be our "core".

I've said it before and I'll say it again. All the play around Dak could be as perfect as could be. Dak will still make that poor decision and throw that will ruin it. That's what he does. Not every time but in the most important of situations when it really matters....he will screw the pooch.
