I said he must earn it. If the coaching staff thinks McFadden is the better choice, then McFadden is the better choice. Until he proves otherwise to the coaching staff, he will not play.
He's earning it rt now and you'll like it whether you choose to or not.

Is it not working because of Randle or the fact that Leary is out? You know, the Giants and Philly have a pretty good defense. Patience grasshopper. :)

Because of Randle. We arent seeing more rushing attempts becuase we arent rushing successfully. When the run doesnt work, we have to pass. 2 and 8 compared to 2 and 5....etc etc.

I do think Randle will have some really good games this year, and he will rack up some yardage and Scores. In fact, I picked him up on my FFL this week. With Weeden starting and playing Atl, you have to figure he will get more looks.

But thats against Atl, Jacksonville, Washington......

When we play that team in the playoffs, or when we play really good defenses.......Randle doesnt cut it. WHich is what many of us said in the offseason. There is still time to prove that theory wrong................:)

My stance is just about smack dab in the middle of yall.

Michael is definitely the most physically gifted RB we have. Hell, he might be the most physically gifted player on this roster.

That being said, he's obviously not ready to be getting snaps on game day, for whatever reason. Maybe @Bleu Star is right in that Garrett is humbling him.

I do believe he'll get his shot, and when he does he'll do really well.

But I trust the coaches to know when that right time is.

I truly believe that Garrett is using this ramp up time as an opportunity to mold CM into the type of player Garret considers worthy of representing his Cowboys. Mentally....

He threw Butler right in without any practice.

There is no reason he can't give CMike McFadden's carries for a game or two.

I do not believe Michael is more physically gifted than McFadden.

That doesnt mean I think McFadden is definitely a better TB but McFadden has freakish skills that he just can never seem to put together on the field.

He matches up really well

I can't really leave this section without raving about Christine Michael: relative to the 2014 class, he's one sigma from the mean in 40 time, bench press, and broad jump, two sigma in shuttle and three cone, and three sigma in vertical and 10-yard split.

What does this mean? Well, Fun Fact To Know And Tell about CM: if you took each one of his test scores down (40 yard time increases, broad jump decreases, etc.) by a whole standard deviation his pSPARQ would be 130 (!!!), good for ninth-best (!!!) in the 2014 class (!!!!!). That is insane. I can't process it. It's impossible. There are not enough exclamation points in the world.

Christine Michael is about as physically talented as one could ask for. I was going to post the same thing that bkight13 did. He's almost as fast as McFadden, quicker than McFadden, and much, much stronger.

McFadden is fast. That is his best asset. He is also injury prone. He is great when he has a large hole but he won't break a lot of tackles. Michael has all the skills, he just needs a chance. Athletically, he is superior to the other RBs all things considered when you factor speed, strength, and athletic ability.

Not to mention, he doesn't have the wear and tear McFadden has. I doubt McFadden's current numbers are anywhere near what the chart shows.

We can't really know why McFadden is playing and Michael is inactive week after week.
People actually use this to mean that the coaching staff believe McFadden is better and more deserving of playing time. We shouldn't assume that this is true.
I remember a few joke threads on this board about Jerry signing McFadden after Murray left. This was before we signed McFadden. Fans never thought they would seriously sign him. It is a possibility that Jerry is the guy who is in love with McFadden and the coaches are doing what they are told by keeping him slightly in the games.

Signing McFadden was illogical in the first place. So what ever illogical thought process decided he would be a good fit could still be at play in keeping Michael inactive.

What's so illogical about signing McFadden? We needed to replace Murray and DMC was the cheapest replacement. People can keep harboring for Dallas to activate Michael all they want, but the reality of the situation is they aren't gonna do so unless there's an injury to McFadden or Randle. If he was so good they would've already done so. The guy obviously hasn't done enough in practice to show he's better than the backs on the 46 man roster as of now.

Or perhaps it's because there are three rbs currently ahead of him that are doing just enough to avoid getting sent to the minors. Barely.
