He reminds me nothing of McNabb, I wish those comparisons would stop.

I think the only place I can see a little similarity is the body type. If you compare Dak and McNabb, they both have similar lower bodies with their hips and legs. Other than that though I dont see anything else that would garner comparisons.

And I put the Eagles success on Andy Reid far more than i would McNabb.

I agree completely. And now Reid is winning games in KC with Alex Smith. That Eagles team under Reid was always one of the best coached teams in the league IMO.

Honestly if Dak's ceiling is Donovan McNabb, we'll do really well for the better part of the decade after Romo retires.

People around here hate to admit it, but Donovan McNabb was insanely good for a long time.

I've said from the beginning that Dak reminded me a lot of McNabb. I don't know why so many find that insulting. If Dak can dominate the NFCE the way McNabb did for so many years, we'll be damn lucky. The Eagles were always in the thick of things with McNabb. I hated when we played against him. Hopefully we'll still have the same type of team when Dak takes over as we do now, but with a better D. But we do all need to realize that's it's still too early to tell. Couldn't ask for a better start though.....

I would say this running ability is similar. Neither are mike Vick quick, but have the ability to move around when needed.

With all of the praise that is being thrown his way, Dak Prescott's greatest achievement this season may be to remain humble.
Great point.
If he was a knucklehead, this could be pretty damaging to his long term growth.
As of now, the guy follows Romo around every chance he gets, during and after practice. He's a sponge...and a smart one at that.

I mean there are certain skill sets in nfl that are similar but wildly more successful. I could say Dak has the body type and play style of a Steve young, because he's been so accurate in these preseason games. And scrambled about the same. But Dak supposedly has a wild tendency with accuracy at times. So basically I can't say well he's Steve young because he's hit on every single pass he's throw in the preseason. I have to say he's closer to mcnabb based on his college body of work, but that doesn't mean the comparisons are set in stone. Tony was Brett favre early in his career, and now he's more Peyton manning like.

Tony still tries to do too much at times. Anyone remember our 12-4 season when the Eagles whipped us on Thanksgiving Day? Or the Panthers game last year before Tony got hurt again? Point is, all QB's have a couple "head scratching" games EVERY year, I don't care if their name is Manning, Rogers, Brees, Favre or Romo. Dak will be no different. Lets just hope he can stay on the bench for a year or 2 and learn from Romo.....

Absolutely. And I think a lot of fans only watch the cowboys and our lack of interception and think other qbs never have bad games. I've a few relatives that only watch Cowboys and often don't understand the rest of the nfl qbs and their play.

LOL...we talking about PRACTICE! I like Dak like most but it's preseason for crying out loud. Tap the brakes.

But the overall points are good. Dak has the best opportunity to succeed simply because we have a solid OL, RB, and WR group. I'm more curious to see how Lynch does in Denver since we tried very hard to get him.

Let's hope Dak gets the Aaron Rodgers treatment and plays well once he's in. IMO, nobody deserves a superbowl more than Romo. We need to figure out the defense. It's sad that we seem to take all of the high risk picks at the same position, but perhaps with our easier strength of schedule this year and DE's returning we will have a chance to make a run in the playoffs.

It is way to early to suggest Dak can be our quarterback of the future, but I was excited about his potential from the moment Dallas drafted him. And that's because he's got it all.....from the neck up. Character, moxie, work ethic, drive, leadership, all that good stuff. I know Goff and Wentz have that too. So what's the difference?

Expectations. Goff and Wentz come in as top five picks with the tag of "franchise savior". Prescott, meanwhile, was the 135th overall pick that came in under the expectations of "possible backup and developmental passer".
It is not too early to say he is a guy who *could* be the heir apparent.

He has the talent level, mental ability and leadership qualities. He has shown in games.

He has pedigree.

No guarantees but he has earned the right to be treated accordingly.

One of the best players in Philly's history.

For the record, I think Dak will be better than Donovan McNabb. He's already shown a much better ability with the deep ball and with accuracy.
McNabb strength was throwing the deep ball. It was all the other throws he struggled with.

The best part of this is reading Eagles' fans comments at the bottom of the page. How much would it suck to give up that much to get the lesser player if you're PHI fan? A lot.

Every year, I love their rueination (sic). Last year, it was La'el Collins. This year it was Ezekiel Elliott. And AGAIN this year it's Dak Prescott, who we got in the fourth and we still have all our premium picks next year. :lmao::laugh::lmao2:

I don't get why people keep saying tap the brakes? I mean don't we all have reason to be excited?
I don't get that either. Like if we get overly excited than Dak will regress or something lol. We should be excited. Nothing is more exciting in football than finding a diamond in the rough that could be a franchise player.

The big difference is that the Eagles paid a price that will cripple the team if Wentz doesn't become a top 10 level QB while we paid a price that is reasonable if Dak becomes a successful QB2.

McNabb was more accurate than I think people give him credit for. Yeah, he'd occasionally throw a dirt ball, but most of the time he was pretty on point. He was pretty damn good for a long time.

On another note, I had no idea that Goff was currently thought of as 3rd on the depth chart. Damn.
