Cowboy the **** up and perform.

To all you players Shut UP and perform, let your actions do the talking then when you have accomplished something and you feel its in the best interest for you to blame a Coach who left go right ahead, I hate excuses like this what a bloody cop out!

he didn't give me enough carries " "

Of course Parcells wouldn't know anything about successful running backs would he? Maybe JJ should stop making excuses, be a man, and become the RB we all hope/expect him to be.ThreeSportStar80;1485147 said:Are you serious? You can't mess with a running back's instincts espeically when you've never played the position... Parcells is overbearing, the team suffered from that. He's stubborn and I'm actually glad a new breath of fresh air is in Dallas.

Verdict;1486692 said:I am willing to admit that I think some of Parcells' quirks were not conducive to success. I am also willing to admit that his coaching style didn't work with all players, or worked better with some better than others.
I would even be willing to concede that Parcells' use of Jones was potentially not the best way to use him. But lets look at this issue realistically.
I think it would really be a stretch to assume that Parcells told Jones during film study anything like this:
Julius, you ran through that gaping hole there and got 20 yards on that play. I don't want for you to do that anymore. Instead, you need to run up your lineman's back and fall down. You need to let them "down you" on first contact instead of using your great balance. Don't bump it to the outside if the hole you are supposed to go through closes up, just run into your lineman and fall down. Besides , we absolutely LOVE second and long and third and longer situations around here!
I believe it!Boyzmamacita;1485138 said:http://www.eventsquarterly.com/blog/?p=2261
Julius and Akin Ayodele will be on a BET special Friday night at 10:00 PM Eastern. Here is an excerpt of what JuJo says about The Tuna.
Jones on his relationship with former coach Bill Parcells:
” … Coach Parcells my first year, he (Parcells) kind of let me do what I wanted to do, second year and last year he kind of coached me too much, … . You know, you can’t really mess with a running back out there. You can tell them where to go and where the hole is gonna be … … He had me running like a robot. No disrespect to coach Parcells but, you can’t really tell a running back where to run or he’s gonna be out there looking like a robot. That’s what I was doing last year.”
Ayodele on if teammate Terrell Owens had a part in former coach Bill Parcells leaving the Dallas Cowboys:
“It had nothing to do with T.O. I think for coach Parcells it was his time. He felt like he had a window, you know four or five years and we didn’t win it. We came up short … ”
For those of you who say it wasn't Parcells, well, there you go.
I fail to see how your reply addressed anything in my post.iceberg;1488472 said:um...goober - parcells drafted jones...passed on stephen jackson to get him.
parcells has a lot of good qualities but those who think the man is midas w/football really need to buy a vowel and finish spelling CLU (insert new vowel here)
starfrombirth;1488550 said:Just my two cents and I know that this post is so buried that it will never be read but anyways here is my question... How many times last year did we see JJ start to get into high gear with some big runs and suddenly he wasn't in the game anymore and MBIII was? It seemed to me to happen more than I would like. Just a thought.
Boyzmamacita;1488799 said:I felt the same way. I would've liked to have seen JuJo get warmed up. As a rookie, he got hotter as the game went on. That being said, I can't complain about the production we got out of MBIII.
superpunk;1488836 said:Actually, in Jones rookie year, his production steadily decreased as the game went on, getting the whole way down to about 2.3 ypc on rushing attempts 16-20, and 3.3 ypc on attempts 21-25. It did shoot back up to 6 ypc on carries 26-30, but went back to 2 at 31-35. In any case, the sample size for all carries after 26 is low enough to skew the results. And after seeing Julius average 2.8 ypc on carries 16-25, why would anyone want to keep giving him the ball then, anyways?
It's nearly time to face facts. The reason Julius looked so earth shattering in his rookie season was because he faced horrid run defenses. Defenses that had allowed 200 yard games to several RBs, and had allowed 150+ games to even more RBs in the weeks surrounding when we played them. The reason he can't do it but seldom now? He's just not that good.

I don't recall Marion Barber running "like a robot." He may be limited, but when his number is called, he runs with bad intentions. No excuses. No disclaimers.
