It's odd reading through that along with other teams forums. Non-Cowboy fans think Aikman is a homer and Dallas fans thinks that he is out to get us. There has to be a happy medium right? I am biased and can't find his homerism.

You do get spoiled if you hang out at CZ a lot. In real life, you're lucky if fellow Cowboys fans know the players on the roster, much less are able to debate their histories and scheme fits. It's not surprising Packers fans have an understanding of the Cowboys that's drawn in crayon. They get their information from other message boards and ESPN.

It's not just lack of information that the casual fan deals with. It's also just a lack of understanding on just how much we live and die with this team.

I remember the father of one of my friends a few years ago asking about the Cowboys. It was during that 2004 season where things weren't going so well. I had made a comment that I was excited about the game on Sunday and he asked why did I bother getting excited for a team that was bad. It's a really hard question to answer for someone that isn't a fan like we are. Yeah, they'll get excited when things are going well and they'll bust out their Cowboys gear or wear a tshirt the Sunday before a playoff game, but they'll never experience the rollercoaster of emotions that we will.

I honestly got a bit choked up this last game when Lawrence redeemed himself. It's not a Super Bowl win or anything, but just being along for the ride through all these tough times? It makes times like these so precious. I truly hope the fans on here don't take this for granted. Even if the season ends on Sunday, I'm so thankful for this season and this team.

At a Christmas get together I had a member of my "extended" family ("a Cowboys fan") tell me how Weeden would be so much better than Romo....eventually, "once he got up to nfl speed" and how "he quit watching the Cowboys this year because they lost every time he did"...I couldn't muster more of a response other than hmmm....before walking back in the house to watch the 2nd half of the Colts game. On the way home I said I'm never discussing football or the Cowboys with that guy again.

Classic. I had a guy last week ask me how 'that linebacker 'Butler' was doing.' I just said 'he's fine,' and changed the subject.

I had a similar situation happen the day after the New Orleans game this season where a guy at the bar told me he is a cowboys fan, and that after the 49ers game he cancelled his Sunday Ticket because it was going to be a terrible season. As a true fan I would never not want to watch the Cowboys, ever.

Its bad enuff talking football here in the Twilight Zone with Cowboy fans who are invested in the team emotionally. On the outside its nothing more than an effort in futility and something I stay away from. Its as if those on the outside are watching different games in another league somewhere that uses the same team and player names.

You can drop into any message board and read a whole range of things ranging from idiotic to insightful.

Someone just dropping in here at CZ might read things like "Should the Cowboys trade Jason Garrett" or depending on the particular week that "Bruce Carter is the most gutless LB in the league" or "Bruce Carter is the best LB on the team and the Cowboys need to resign him".

It happens....

This board isn't any more knowledgeable than any other.

I've noticed that too, my wife's grandfather (mid 70s) HATES Aikman lol says he is sellout and calls him every curse word he knows lol it is really quite funny.... I asked him "well what about his time in dallas, doesn't that count for anything?" He says it's old news lol

He still loves irvin, go figure lol
