Funny thing is the Cowboys can still make playoffs

2 wins was all we needed from Garrett. Just 2 out of 7 and he couldn't do it. Pathetic.

At some point it is the players fault. They were in all but on of those games to the end and the players did not pull it out. That is the bottom line!

Garrett did not give up 2 long TD passes in OT and he did not hold on Winston fumble yesterday either

At some point it's the coaches fault.

Year after year after year after year Garrett escapes blame.

Our coaches have no plan B for when we can't out athlete another team...

Actually.. Our plan B is hoping Romo or Dez can bail them out with Romo's ability to buy time or Dez's freakish ability to go up and get a ball.

I just gave you 3 wins that were lost on the field by the players......

Expecting three teams to cough up a 2+ game lead with 7 to go is asking a lot. Especially when we only play one of those three teams during the coming stretch. I guess that means we really only need two of the three teams ahead of us to choke. Still a tall order at this point, even if we were to magically somehow win out.

We needed one, if not two of these last three games to have a decent shot of getting it done. We didn't get it done. Now we're praying for miracles.

OMG ... are you freakin' serious?

How many 2-7 teams made the playoffs? None.

Oh I forgot ... none of those teams had Tony Romo coming back. Yawn.

I should play that Monkey's song ... Day Dream Believer.

My point was it's almost comical that we still have a shot. I'd wager it has not occurred too often that a 2-7 team would be 2 games off the division lead.

We are likely 4-3 or 3-4 with even a halfway capable backup (aka 3rd round pick Kirk Cousins) in here. Whomever is responsible for the decision to groom Weeden to be Romo's backup should be on the chopping block.

Seriously, even the average fan could tell you that if Weeden had to play at all this year it would be an unmitigated disaster. We should have done a better job finding another guy, especially after the debacle vs AZ last year.

Matt Cassell is a halfway capable backup.

Stop it wit this excuse.

Brandon Weeden won games with less experience and on a worse roster in Cleveland.

Dave bleeping Campo had far worse and he never lost 7 in a row.

Garrett offers nothing.

There are not enough games left for Dallas to leap-frog three teams. If we were only behind the Giants with the same records we have now......I would be a little more confident considering their remaining schedule.

7-9 does not win this division
8-8 does not win this division and if it were good enough, tiebreakers won't give us an advantage

Dallas has to run the table and that is not happening. There are too many holes in this ship and Romo can only plug so many.

I'll play off of Shaq's promise. If we make the playoffs at this point, I will dress in a DC cheerleader outfit and post it here on the Zone.

The only game Matt Cassell gave us a chance to win is Philly last week. And that's only because Dez went beast mode on a lame duck pass. Passes nowhere near the intended man 70% of the time. He has been extremely awful to the point where a lot of fans were actually asking for more Weeden. I cannot name a worse QB starting in the NFL yesterday (and that includes 3RD STRINGER Landry Jones).

I think 7-9 will win this division, but like you said, the tie breakers will likely not be in the Cowboys favor with 6 losses within the NFC already, with games against Carolina, GB, and an improving Commander team twice still to go.

You're right on Garrett but Brandon Weeden won 5 of 26 in CLE so I wouldn't exactly anoint him useful.

Believe what you want.

There is almost a decade of evidence that shows Cassell can win in this league. Even went to a pro bowl 5 years ago.

I believe that if Cassell played for another team he would win some games.

But whatever.. You go on giving these gutless coaches who don't make any adjustments excuses.

The only way for this season to get any worse is for Romo to win 6 straight and then lose to the Commanders in a week 17 "win and in" game. Won't be surprised to see it happen too

Romo's not losing another "win and in" game for the rest of his career. Not after Green Bay. Guaranteed. He'll also go and beat Green Bay THIS year.

Im just saying that Weeden I felt could've been more effective than he was.

I can't watch those games he played in and not feel like our predictable playcalls didn't help the other team and hurt Weeden.

You can't just let the other team know what we're going to do the entire game. Nobody is doing us those favors but we more than oblige the other team with our playcalls and tendencies.

The Commanders are going to be tough to sweep. Carolina is going to be tough to beat and at GB is going to be tough. I think the division winner will have 7 wins. I think the Cowboys can get to 7 wins, but what will the tie breakers look like?

GB just lost to Detroit in GB.......they are also on a 3 game losing streak

They don't need to choke have you watched NY and Philly play this season
