Giants 5-5
Commanders 4-5
Eagles 4-5
Cowboys 2-7

Amazing how close the Cowboys are at one end to the #1 pick, and only a couple games out of 1st place at the other. Couple that with the fact that they can eliminate the Commanders themselves, and Bradford being out several weeks makes the Eagles a losing skid realistic. I could see the Giants losing three out of their next four.

I know we are going to sacrifice draft position by putting Romo out there, but the season does still have a heartbeat, so my thinking is no matter how remote the possibility, the fans are owed the chance to try.

The fact that the other three teams in the NFC east are relatively healthy and only the Giants are .500 says it all. If any of them lose 3 more games they are 8-8.

The Giants have the toughest remaining schedule in the NFL. Plus Washington still. Someone's getting a loss.
Philly has been W-L-W-L-W-L all year. They still have Washington and NY. Someone's getting more losses.
Washington is going to be 4-6 after they visit the Panthers this week, and Dallas has them twice.

Romo could achieve sainthood status. It's possible. :omg:

I'm kinda thinking we aren't making the playoffs this year. I'm not sure why I think that. Our team is such a well oiled machine!

Hey, no question the playcalling has been horrible, accountability has been horrible, Bob Sturm called it "the disease of losing" this morning and it has spread everywhere. Yes coaching has been terrible, but I still stand by the comment that we win a few games with a better backup QB. If you want to make a pecking order of reasons why we failed this season that would be at the top IMO.

GB just lost to Detroit in GB.......they are also on a 3 game losing streak

So what? Did you just miss my entire post to point that out? You think playing at Lambeau is going to be a cake walk just because Detroit beat them?

We are likely 4-3 or 3-4 with even a halfway capable backup (aka 3rd round pick Kirk Cousins) in here. Whomever is responsible for the decision to groom Weeden to be Romo's backup should be on the chopping block.

Seriously, even the average fan could tell you that if Weeden had to play at all this year it would be an unmitigated disaster. We should have done a better job finding another guy, especially after the debacle vs AZ last year.

Couldnt agree more; They couldnt detect this in Training Camp?

forget letting Murray walk and the Randle/RBBC debacle(DMC is playing well imho, and now I think he can do better being the lead dog. He isnt murray, but I have no problem with DMC. ).....

But the backup QB mistake was a big big ...FAIL.

This will go down as the most painful season I can remember if we don't.

But we have a chance. Somehow. 8-8 will do it I think.

It's going to get even more painful when we win just enough games to miss the playoff and screw up our draft position.

But hey, moral victories, what ifs, and stuff.

And despite how poorly GB played they still had a chance to win it at the end had it not been for a blocked FG.

This defense has been shredded by every good QB that they've faced, and all of a sudden, some of these posters are scoffing at Aaron Rodgers? Unbelievable. I'm all for being optimistic but be reasonable.

We are only 2 and a half games out of a wildcard as well. The NFC East is pretty pathetic but so is the NFC. I would say a wildcard will be a tougher feat considering we lost to both the Falcons and Seahawks though. We will play everyone close, maybe Romo is enough to actually win these games. I don't know.

The Cowboys are 4 games back from the 2nd wildcard. Atlanta is 6-3 and they beat us so technically it's 5 games back.

The Cowboys are multiple games behind every team in their division and still have Carolina and Green Bay on the schedule. Washington isn't going to be a pushover we usually split with them. This season is over!

At this point in the process of greiving, I am entering my own self defined stage of "Sugar Plums, Chocolate and Make Believe".

My new hope for this Team. Romo comes back, we somehow roll, and win the division. then roll into the Super Bowl on some incredible last second wins in the playoffs; Yes....yes.....thats what I have decided to beleive. Its much, much easier this way.....

That's our only hope at this point-- that the rest of the NFCE falls apart in the 2nd half of the season the way we have done on this 7 game skid.

However-- I am not giving up yet. I want to see how this team responds to the adversity now that Romo is back. I think we will get a huge morale boost with him at QB-- and if we win in Miami and come out with a strong statement game and beat an undefeated Carolina team at home-- I think we just may be in a position to rally for the final 5 games.

With all of the drama and adversity-- we are in a great position to play the "it's us against the world" card and start to rally around the family. It starts with a great W this week... Gotta start washing the bad taste out of our mouths. Then, it's up to Romo, Witten, Lee, and Dez to start to say the right things and lead the fight.

Could you imagine? How utterly fantastic and awesome would it be if Romo wins 7 in a row and we get in to the playoffs and win the SB after THIS start?! LOL.... obviously not realistic, but man-- I'd love to see the media try and spin their way out of that story. That would be the single greatest "rags to riches" Super Bowl story in the history of the NFL.

You are correct, I was going by a tweet I read earlier which was obviously false.

Still, Green Bay or Atlanta doesn't seem like a shoe in for a wildcard at this point.

lol... I said it was unrealistic-- but don't forget what Parcells said. By Thanksgiving-- "you are what you are". It's not Thanksgiving yet. Their fate is not sealed. We're 3 games back from NYG with 7 to play. Improbable? Yes. Impossible? No.

This team has guys who have a lot of pride. We need a W in the worst way-- and I think you see some swagger and confidence return if we win the next 2 games. With 10 days off after Thanksgiving-- it's not out of the question they rally and make a run at a VERY weak NFCE.

The only thing Romo coming back and winning a ton of games is going to do is ruin our draft position. We see what the team looks like without Romo, so do you really want to miss out on drafting a QB?
