Hamlin would just be the SS

the position Scandrick fills is like a regular FS, except for he probably will have alot of man-cover responsibilities, as opposed to just playing centerfield

ahhh . . . . ok thanks for that.

don't take my word for it though, I'm just guessing

understood . . . . but what you're saying makes sense.

Not sure if I like Hamlin at SS though. Interesting nevertheless.

Per Steve Dennis on GAC, CBS 11 has learned that Scandrick will be called the "star" safety, tutored by Darren Woodson.

No, I'm not joking. Apparently Newman wasn't either.

I still think Woodson would make a tremendous coach...why he is resisting it I don't know.

It may be the major hours involved.

You are way off bro.

Spencer has shown a far better knack at getting arrested than Carp.

FAR better.

I'm really intrigued.

Like I said earlier, this is about getting your best players on the field.

In this case, the Cowboys suddenly have some really nice options in the secondary because of the versatility. Basically, they can be in a nickle and base defense almost at the same time...

CL, what does that actually mean in practical terms?

We don't have a FS anymore? We basically are using 3 CBs on defense for the base defense?

Wade's getting adventurous (sp?).

I'm guessing it'll be like what Woodson did, playing FS and also covering the slot WR... Which is why he'll tutor him. This is probably a Campo idea, doing the same thing they did back then.

Of course, Scandrick isn't 220 lbs, either.

What about teams that go 3 wide as their base offense? Does that mean ball is on the field more?

could be, or we could play our nickel package where there is only one safety, and Scandrick moves into the slot

Wow, Steve Dennis is on talking about TO right now and at the end he says Scandrick WILL be a starting safety and that a new position will be created just for him called the "star" position. It will be a hybrid FS/CB position and Darren Woodson is going to personally tutor him on it.

Pretty cool.

What???? I mean I guess if Wade really thinks this will work and Darren backs him up on it then I wouldnt mind it..well there goes our CB depth.

Leigh Bodden anyone???

What if there isn't a slot reciever? What if the offense is in a max protect two tight end formation? Do we want Scandrick out there tackling?

Hamlin at SS???

Good Lord, anybody that watched the Ravens game knows that Hamlin is not a SS.

He freaking bounced off the Raven's RB and we are thinking off moving him to SS???

Wow, what the hell are they smoking at Valley Ranch.

Well I mean if we are going this "star" route..I guess I would look at Victor "macho" Harris and Kevin Barnes in rounds 2-3.

I guess I'm just still not sure how exactly this Scandrick thing is going to work. I would just get a true FS or SS in the draft and still have Darren work with them. Unless they are targeting another position in round 2, count me as skeptical on this...

This is getting ridiculous at this point, Scandrick to FS? Really?

I hope it isn't true either. We'd have the worst tackling secondary in the league. We better load up on the front 7 if we are doing this.
