This is exactly in line with what many have been saying, have a few threads about this as well.

This defense is so fixated on the big plays of sacks and picks that they totally disregard the grunt work. Run defense isn’t sexy. It’s fundamental and disciplined. Until Quinn and the players decide that they have to earn the right to pass rush then this won’t be fixed.

The team needs to understand that stopping the run allows you to tee off on the QB. Once they do that, then this liability will go away.

Exactly. They just want to pass rush so bad that forgetting that someone might run by them . It’s definitely fixable
They have had a few games to work on it. Especially the bye week. It’s getting worse. Lmao. This week I will be complaining about no pass rush..

I think he is right, he talks about guys out there looking to make "the play" and busting assignment like gap control. This defense is very aggressive trying to get to the QB but in doing so they have been suspect vs the run, in other games it did not change the outcome of Dallas winning but now it has and now the attention is on them to stop the run. They get a good test over the next few games as they will face Cook, Barkley, Jospeh and Pierce. Hope to see them do a better job of handling their own assignments instead of trying to be the guy who makes the play

We are going on week 11, and at this point talking and throwing out tweets of hope is just a waste of time.
Seems that a few players on this team want to keep talking rather than showing up and proving their worth with actual play making ability.
Talk is cheap, and Dak is the leader in that dept.
Just shut up and lead by example, make some real plays and then you can tweet all you want.

I like “no c” and think he’s good on podcasts and I enjoy his perspective but he’s an optimist’s optimists. That’s not a bad thing especially with this fan base but he says everything is science but then that science is wrong.

2 weeks ago he was saying the bears rushing all over us was fine because it burns the clock and we will take that all day with a lead- the problem is that teams have continued to run on us with a lead or not because we can’t stop it.

Stop me if you've heard this before "we've just got to bet better at that". Romo's lone in almost every pc after a loss. How they were going to get better at that wasn't brought up and you know what happened? They did not get better at that. Just got better at talking about getting better. Of course, Garrett had to look at the tape first

What a load. They haven't had a decent run D against team that wanted to run the rock.

So, if Cook puts up 150 this Sunday and they come close to giving up 200 again, what will the story be then? Back to basics, got to work on us again?

And they'd better be really careful about that run focus in MIN because Cousins and his 1 and 2 can put up some gawdy numbers if the Cowboys have to commit that 8th man to the box.

This entire team would be better off with less talk and more work. The Cowboys are the only team with a talk ethic.
