Gallup catching problems?

I thought he would find his way into the offense more, but honestly? He doesn’t show any of the explosiveness Dallas was talking about. That was a perfect pass he dropped yesterday too. Other than Austin,Thompson and Beasley...I don’t trust the others.

I think Gallup will end up being a very good WR. Of all the things to be concerned about with our offense, Gallup is the least of my concerns.

Jake Fromm 2020 pick. Might as well throw out White or Red to stink it up even more until then.

There's also the issue of shuffling the WR line up way too often in games, and the QB who throws you a bone every 30 snaps. You can't get in any kind of rhythm or expect a well placed football at present. They need to leave him out there and live through his mistakes right now.

He's a good one, he just needs some more opportunities. The INT was unlucky yesterday, but yes he should have caught it.

This playing every WR stuff needs to stop.

That’s the whole reason Garrett and Co don’t like RBBC. But now we have WRBC? Stupid! Par for the course with this guy!

Sanjay special.

Hopefully, he's just in the phase that most rookie receivers go through. Struggling/meh first year and then the light bulb goes off year 2 and on.

BUT HE WAS CARRYING BRICKS!!!!

Seriously, though, everyone was hyping this guy up as something more than he was. He was a 3rd round pick with some obvious warts. His ceiling is maybe Allen Hurns.

I can't say in good faith what his ceiling is.
If he is the next Hurns I hop he can stay healthy and be the 2015 Hurns lol.
Large part of it will come down to him and how bad he wants it.

The hype on him was high, unfair to him due to the lack of talent at WR

I think cedric Wilson was having a better camp . But man Gallup gotta stop dropping his opportunities . We know he ain't getting many passes but the few u getting u can't keep dropping. Maybe he need those glove odell got lol .

Simple. In practice Dak knows he isn't going to get hit so he throws a decent ball. In the game, the receivers quickly realize they have no idea if the ball is going to be thrown or where it will be located
Except everyone says Dak is bad in practice and better during games.

well to be fair, yesterday was more of a fumble than a drop.

If the ball hits your hands it should get caught, regardless if you are a first, 2nd, 3rd rounder or FA. The QB cant walk it to you.

He'll be fine, the drag against the panthers was uncatchable, the sideline pass the next week was out of bounds and he fumbled the catch yesterday.

is anyone else surprised by Gallup’s drops this year. Didn’t catch the drag route vs Carolina, had a TWill type drop yesterday resulting in a pick and vs NYG I’ve heard 50-50 between his route or Daks throw on the deep ball that was incomplete.

He’s a rookie, but hopefully his hands get a little better. Need any spark we can get
I think his problems aren't as big as you make it. his drag route the ball was thrown behind him. yesterday he should have secured that ball and worst case scenario its incomplete, but ET was in the right place, right time and made a great play. I watched the NY game and the long pass to him was over thrown, even if he caught it he would have stepped outside. with Dak's problems he needed a Romo type QB, with accuracy and experience to help him. he is not getting that. instead we have a QB that you have to be 5 yards open before he hits you with the ball and its just steam rolling across everything.

I'll be honest... with all the chaos going on at the WR position coupled with the fact that the QB prefers throwing to TEs and RBs, I don't blame ANY of our WRs for dropping a pass every once in awhile. they're barely involved in the game.

Receivers who can't take a hit and hold onto the ball concern me, particularly if they're supposed to be possession/YAC receivers. He's young, and will probably improve with a full offseason of and NFL weight room.

On the deep ball I was less concerned about the "drop" than the lack of any separation. Dak didn't give him room to catch the ball, but Gallup didn't give Dak much room to drop it into either.

I don't know why we're running deep flys to Gallup and Beasley instead of Thompson. We've got 3 bona fide speed threats now. Takes those shots with them first.
