Gallup catching problems?

The deep ball was absolutely a drop.

The guy's a 3rd-round rookie and any idea that he was every going to be a 60-catch something or other in this offense was always misguided. The idea that he was going to come in and replace Dez was even sillier.

If you're talking about for just this year absolutely. Beyond that it's pretty irrelevant that he was a 3rd round pick.

is anyone else surprised by Gallup’s drops this year. Didn’t catch the drag route vs Carolina, had a TWill type drop yesterday resulting in a pick and vs NYG I’ve heard 50-50 between his route or Daks throw on the deep ball that was incomplete.

He’s a rookie, but hopefully his hands get a little better. Need any spark we can get

Another Forum HOF ......along with Jaylon, Gregory, Woods, Frazier, etc etc....there going to have to build an additional wing in Canton for all these Will and Jerry Stud picks.....

Damn, no one escapes your hate. I hope you don’t have any pets.

Nah man. I'm a grown man. I don't dream about players. But I do know ****ery when I see it. My vision is 20/20.
This scheme is obviously not working for Dak. Romo was able to get by with this terrible staff for so many years. I don't see why they don't just run dak more, run more bootlegs, ect. Get him out the pocket. Get rid of Linehan and get a coordinator that could actually use Dak the right way.

If we lose to the Lions this week (highly likely), we will both get my first wish.

I felt like last year, Dak was one of the major problems. All the inaccuracy, ect. But we've had a whole offseason to scheme, and rework this offense. And after 3 games of terrible play calling, I'm tired of seeing it. How many times are we gonna like up in shotgun on 3rd & 2? Put Dak in a west coast offense, & its cake.

Mid season? I doubt it. Even if Linehan is gone, I doubt we'll bring in and implement some new offensive scheme from what we have seen the last 2.25 years.
Someone internal will be promoted and will still use Garretts playbook.

Now next year, sure. But if Dak continues on this pace it will be a new HC/OC who may want to draft another QB that fits his mold.

Facts.

That's called scheming to the strengths of your play caller. Something Linehan is incapable of doing.

Just odd considering Linehan was the one that wanted Prescott.

According to Jones, Linehan was "on the table" for the Cowboys to draft Prescott. Linehan had him rated with the top quarterbacks in the draft, Wentz and Goff, and he pushed for the team to rate him higher than it did.

Linehan studied the Mississippi State offense as well as the quarterback. His impression was that Prescott was making more whole-field reads than most spread quarterbacks. But he knew three elements would be transitional for him: Playing under center, running a huddle and learning/making more expansive play calls.

Wanted him but can't call the plays to get him in rhythm.

This was his problem in College, we knew that going into the draft

Gallup is gonna be a beast, it's only 3 games in his NFL career

It's that Lal guy who I am beginning to get worry about

Where do they find these people?

Yes.. Very odd...

It looks like a combination of protection and QB play (specifically in the CAR game) to me.

Both of which are bigger problems than play calling, for the record.

Ok so sounds like Linehan is clearly not the problem

But QB play being a major problem is an issue that comes back to the HC. After all he had input into picking the QB and into deciding to start him and into coaching him for the last 3 years and into picking the QB coach and into devising the game plan that should be to his strength. Sure sounds like the HC needs to be held accountable. Hmmmm.....

Oh wait

It's ONLY been 8 years .....

He's a rookie 3rd round WR.He's been thrown into the fire and needs time to develop before even suggesting he's one of the 75% of 3rd round WRs that are busts.

In 2010, the Steelers picked Emmanuel Sanders in the 3rd and Antonio Brown in the 6th. ES ended 2010 with 28 catches (50 targets) for 376 yards - 2 TDs and AB was 16 (19 targets) for 167 - 0 TDs. Both ended up solid #1s.

How can he if he can’t even catch the GD ball??? These guys on O all suck.

Meanwhile, Calvin Ridley is setting the league on fire.

DJ Moore might only have two career catches, but at least one of them was a touchdown.

Ridley set the league on fire one week. He may well be the real deal, but one week does not prove that. In any case, I'm happy with the LVE pick. We can't draft everyone we would like.
