Now that you mention it, the dragon seemed to shatter as well. Maybe things he actually touched to reanimate?I thought the things he killed dropped to the ground and the things he created shattered ?
EDIT... but the Giant she killed did seem to shatter. Maybe because she used dragonglass?

While their scorpions can't shoot straight up, the dragon does have a limited range for dragon breath and puts him in position for all the other scorpions. Attacking at night could give her an edge though, they wouldn't be able to sight but would have to hone in on the sound of the flapping wings which makes it incredibly hard to be accurate.Perhaps Dany will go up above the cloud line on her dragon (like they did in the battle against the night king) and then dive from above near straight down taking out the big crossbows with dragon fire? Those things may swivel but I see no way those can shoot straight up in the air. We know from the previews that Euron hears a dragon so she will be attacking with the dragon.
They could act as bombers and drop large stones on the ships. Wish Drogon could dive bomb barrels of Wildfire. That would have been both sweet and poetic. They could act as bombers and drop large stones on the ships. Not to mention the scorpion weapons.

Or maybe Asha will ambush the fleet from behind.Perhaps Dany will go up above the cloud line on her dragon (like they did in the battle against the night king) and then dive from above near straight down taking out the big crossbows with dragon fire? heh drop it, when it reaches like 50'-75' above the water, hit it with dragonsfire and make it explode taking out several ships at once!
I hope so, if only to hedge against whatever scheming Varys is doing now in opposition of Daenerys' ambitions.Tyrion as been (obviously) bad at being Dany's hand lately so I expect some shockingly brilliant tactics out of him soon for redemption.
Why was Tyrion back in Dragonstone?
Well, I suppose he came by ship and stopped there as they were entering Blackwater Bay? (ie on the way to King's Landing?)
