A. Selvig's portal was located there, so the invading forces would have all appeared above Stark Tower. Most fighting was directed towards the source of the invasion.
B. Loki started and ended back at Stark Tower. The main villain always attracts fights.
C. Guided cruise missiles can hit the smallest of targets, while doing small corrections in flight trajectory, from miles away. The epicenter was Stark Tower. It would be kinda hard not targeting the building.

As I said, I understand the tower was the epicenter, but the missile goes right down the middle of the street, directly at the tower?

Actual cruise missiles are self-correcting as they fly towards a target. It could align itself first with the city's orientation and then the most direct path (e.g. the street) to its target. Real-life military technology. Not comic book fiction.

The irony of the whole thing is the outcome of Game of THRONES with everyone wondering who will end up on the iron throne, ends up with the actual iron throne being destroyed with the new "throne" being portable. Bran is sitting on the throne every waking hour.

It was only logical he won the "Game of Thrones", the throne was destroyed and he was the only one that had his own.

Bran won the greatest "Participation Trophy" ever.

People at some point have to question Tyrion being so smart, he's wrong a lot. He was wrong about Dany, Cersei and now Bran. Tyrion says Bran wouldn't want it and then Bran says that's the only reason he even showed up. Who has a better story than Bran?......... almost everybody else. Even Grey Worm has a better story, born a slave, was a nobody in a slave army, promoted to their leader, helps conquer many countries, was on the front lines on the fight against the dead where he killed many of them, after taking King's Landing became the General of the Armies for the 7 Kingdoms(that position didn't last long tho) and the biggest accomplishment manged to score one of the hottest women in all the realm, even tho his man bits had been cut off.
Bran after he was crippled but learned to fly? There were a lot of people carrying and dragging him around.


Poor Jon was just a pawn during the whole show.

jon got what he wanted in the end. he didn't want leadership, he just wanted to protect people and be away from the politics. no idea if he'll go be king of the wildlings, but i don't think they really go by that power structure in as much as a council so to speak.

The ending to GoT isn't as disappointing to me as many others are saying it was to them. I liked the end to Big Bang Theory more but it wasn't totally unsatisfying.

Anyone besides me think Jon Snow was going to get Fredo'd when you saw those two guys in the boat? The surprise of surprises was that Grey Worm didn't have him whacked.

Just because Bran knew he would be called upon to be king, doesn't mean he wanted it. He probably realized he was best suited to be king. Also, there was a lot more to his story than being crippled, then learning to fly. He escaped murder at Winterfell, went north of the wall, with only a few other people, none of whom were great fighters, to a land where most able bodied people wouldn't survive, became the 3 Eyed Raven, escaped the Night King, and made Theon and Jaime feel better about themselves.

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. At that point in the show, I was also wondering who's gonna keep the Dothrakis from running rampant, now that their Khaleesi is dead? They were just walking around the docks like it was the boardwalk.

Everybody still alive escaped being murdered at some point, the only reason he survived North of the Wall was because people were carrying him around and they all died defending him, he didn't so much escape the Night king as sat there while Theon fought and then just stared at him until Arya could kill him, Jamie didn't look like he felt better about himself when he left Winterfell and it took Theon dying to get his approval.

Tyrion's story that we didn't get to hear the end of while sitting at the Small Council, about walking into a brothel with a donkey and a honeycomb, had the makings of a better story than Bran's.

I think the book will detail more of Brans thoughts and plans of becoming king.

If that is the case, I think this will be similar to how the mini-series Shogun on TV focused on some characters while the book was more focused on another. The books really told the plans, thoughts and actions of Toranaga and how he WANTED to become Shogun. And although he was an important character in the TV series, they did not remotely capture all of what he was doing to manipulate characters and actions that would take place and even at the end made it seem like he did not want to become shogun.

I think in GRR Martin's upcoming book, if he ever manages to finish them, it will deal a great deal more with Bran and his plans.

I'm OK with the way it ended because the surprise was that they didn't off as many as we anticipated based on 8 seasons of surprise deaths. I was expecting more and wondering how they would get it and by who's hand and Jon killing Dany for the greater good made sense because he's the only one that could have out of love except Grey Worm. And I think that's how Grey Worm made peace with the fact Jon would live. He had no motive for killing Dany because everyone killed for power in the GoT. Plus the fact he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and always has the look of a kid that tasted their own earwax for the first time.

I think it is really funny how so many have been caught up in this and turned on the show in the last season. The cinematographer, director and writers have been under attack from the fans when nothing of this magnitude and scope has ever been produced for TV. As far as things unexplained or resolved, isn't that real life? They left enough mystery for discussion. I can't be overly critical for something that took me on an 8 season ride anymore than I could be of Lord of the Rings. Look for the warts and you can always find them.

And after watching episode 5 again prior to the finale, I caught something I missed the first time and wondered why they showed that white horse fall, what was the significance of that? Until I saw that same horse arrive for Arya to ride out on.

And I should have seen the part about Bran becoming King. Who was the Night King's target all along? His connection to another realm gives him keen insight like assigning Tyrion as his Hand as a form of restitution for his wrongs. Who else would be satisfied with the 6 Kingdoms?

And after all of the slaughter of animals and people, how could I not feel everything's OK, Jon was loving on Ghost and I think he was such a sensitive man that hugging him when he was leaving would have been too much for him so I forgive him for that. Ghost was the first being to ever show him love.

A great example of the show being good but the book being way way better

The season finale was awful. Probably the worst ending to a great show of all time.

The place the show ended wasn't as bad as how they got there. They either chose to rush or were forced to after not giving themselves enough time. If there had been 14 more episodes (a full season this time and another last year instead of taking a year off) I think this ending would actually have been a lot better. A little more time to develoo things like her becoming and Mad Queen and Jon agonizing over having to kill. And making the Night King relevant.

The main thing I can say is they got Jon's ending right. He has fought the undead, stood up to injustice, united people and armies, defeated evil, came back from the dead, been made a king, and rode a dragon. He is in every sense a hero. To be banished and forgotten is worse than death here, and I think that's very Game of Thrones-eque.

He escaped the Night King right after becoming the 3 Eyed Raven, in the cave type place, where Hodor got his name. Just because he had a lot of help doesn't make it any less interesting, just maybe a bit less heroic.

The Jaime and Theon comment was a joke.

Not sure why some of the show's audience see Drogon or any of his siblings attached to anyone but Dany. She was their mother. A little Targaryen blood running through Jon's veins would not make him that much more relevant to them than people who were not Targaryen.

Personally, I loved seeing Drogon fly away with his mother into "the mists of legend". The time of Targaryens and dragons was officially over. Let humans protect themselves and fight their own wars from here on out.

This is exactly how I felt about this season. They spent budget on special effects that should have gone into screen time and the story.
