Mostly, I'm fine where they ended up, the issue is how they got there, like

I can understand why they would think of Bran, he's very well respected and seems like he would be fair, but the reason the show used was "he has a good story" was a really weak reason. How about Ser Davos he was illiterate and became the Master of Grammar and witnessed a smoke monster emerge from the womb of a 400-year-old priestess? That's a story! Bran can only speak a sentence or two before "zoning out". These Houses have been battling over that Throne for a 1000 years, but it only took Tyrion 2 minutes to convince them that Bran was the guy because he had a good story. They thought it over for about 15-20 seconds and all decided, well he has a good story so why not. It took Tyrion longer to convince his own brother to release him and not be killed when he was imprisoned.
The showrunners kinda set themselves up for all the criticism with their deadline and still so much ground to cover.
