Garrett’s inability to develop Dak is the most glaring

Unfortunately with Jerry’s intent on proving he’s a football guy in order to recieve the credit he didn’t with Jimmy the Cowboys are very limited with the caliber of HC we will attract or pursue.

It’s lowered the Cowboys football operations this era to much less than the Championship expectations and aspirations of past eras.

When I look at Garrett’s record I compare to other Cowboy HC this era. He has a winning record, most wins, tied for most division titles, playoff wins and double digit wins in a season.

Most impressive is only one losing season. He’s taken 2 teams to the brink of a championship appearance which I truly didn’t believe could be done with Jerry.

Not bad considering he didn’t have any prior HC experience, the most unqualified HC in Cowboy history.

All with the most meddling owner without the final say on personnel and roster moves.

What does that mean? "Compare to other Cowboys HC this era"? What era is that?

Oh, there's no doubt there is plenty of blame to go around but if you can't see that Dak can't make plays for this team then your just being blind.
I've seen Dak make plays for this team and seen our OL block for the QB. Our team was built around the OL. If the identity or team is no longer the OL we are a 500 team with our current roster and coaches.

Oh, that was a good ball by Dak, and the other one crossing to Zeke was a good ball. I think most of this game was Zeke's fault but it still does not help the fact that overall Dak just really cant do the job. He can keep drives going if you put him in perfect situations but he is not doing anything special for you.

Yes, and that's the thing. He's a good bus driver, and that's fine if we have a coach capable of using those talents. The problem is that we have Jason Garrett.

That and your bus driver has to keep you out of bad positions and make sure there are no jaibreaks from the edges also. Can't hold onto the ball too long either.

I agree, and it might help if Dak were to run more. Admittedly, and, restating what I said last night, I stopped watching after halftime, but I didn't see Dak even attempt to run that first half, despite having lanes. Yet, when he ran the ball against NYG, it worked well for us.

I watched the Eagles offense quite a bit. I wish our offense was just like that. I wish that Garrett would utilize RPO as much as the Eagles. It got them into the Superbowl.

Yes, I would like for us to do that, but the problem is that Garrett seems to not want to, despite the fact that it fits Dak well.

I'm perfectly fine with moving on from Dak once we give him a year with a new coaching staff and he still stinks. I'm NOT fine with giving Garrett another QB and watching that qb get ripped to shreds

I used to go in on Romo for throwing those interceptions, but he got zero help from the playcalling, so he had to take a ton of risks to try to make something happen. During the Romo era, the offense would often look like trash like tonight until Romo decided to throw the playbook in the garbage and improvise, hence the king of the 4th quarter comebacks.

Exactly, and Dak doesn't have the experience that Romo had. Romo had been around long enough to know the nuances of playcalling and better ways to use the talents on the team. Dak doesn't. He needs a proper coach to show him that. Garrett doesn't do that. We could draft the next Peyton Manning, and Garrett would rip him apart.

It is more than Dak, why does it take so long to see obvious stuff, like Cooper over Green, like Conner isn't a guard and shouldn't be playing that position?

Yes, and that's another player that's being ruined by Garrett. Conner is CLEARLY out of position. But no, let's keep logjamming him there. Eventually, he'll figure it out, won't he? It's impossible that he'd be better at RT, right Garrett?

Dak needs an Irvin caliber WR to complete the Triplets 2.0.

You need all 3 for the offense to thrive with Zeke and the OL being the centerpiece.

Jerry Jones tried to be cheap after the Cowboys first SB in the 90s by not paying Emmitt.

The Cowboys stunk it up and lost their first 2 games.

Charles Haley threw his helmet in Jerry's direction in the locker room and afterwards Jerry paid Emmitt and the rest was history.

That's why I said last night that it may be time for a current player to publicly call out the playcalling. We've got TONS of players on other teams and players that at one point played for us that have been calling out Garrett. Jerry HASN'T gotten the message. I think it's time for one of the veterans on this team like Zach Martin to call out Garrett. MAYBE, if we're lucky, Jerry will then get the message.

Washed up, Sanchez sucked rotten eggs before he got here, noodle arm and noodle arm.

Just not going to blame Dak's suckage on Garrett. You guys are welcome to! All these coaches were spoiled by Romo making something out of nothing and now can't figure out why nobody else can.

Great QB's make coaches look great. Bad QB's show how bad the coaches are.

Okay, let me turn it around this way. If we got a QB like Tua or Lock, how confident are you at this point that Garrett wouldn't destroy them like he has loads of other players? Go on and have a look at the players I mentioned earlier that have been ruined under Garrett's tenure.

I think Garretts offensive philosophy is based on the Cowboys of the 90's with Aikman. He still thinks that can work. You run the same plays and execute them and you win. The problem is that he does not have Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt and Novacek who just did not make mistakes in those prime years. Irvin was much different than Dez. He was a reliable move the chains WR. Novacek, in his prime was a lot like Witten. Emmitt was Emmitt, workhorse and reliable pass catcher. Aikman was so efficient.

That's Garrets philosophy and he just does not have the players, and he does not have the coaching ability to pull that off. It worked in 2014 and 2016 when we played mistake free perfect football and great Oline play. I don't think he ruins players.

This whole offense is dead.

and the defence isn't far away. I said it last night. The team looked like they were just going through the motions yesterday. I didn't see the "All or Nothing" documentary, but I heard people saying that it looked like a lot of the players were going through the motions even then. It started to show yesterday in the second quarter. Outside of maybe Tavon Austin nearly getting into a fight (maybe that could've been helpful actually for our team considering the sluggishness that our offence as a whole showed) with the Seahawks DB, I can't say I saw much excitement and passion from our team. I mean, bloody hell, Doug Baldwin showed more passion on the sidelines than our chaps. That said a lot to me. I don't think this team's given up on Garrett yet, but it may be coming before long.

I think at the very least that his failed philosophy has failed a lot of players on this team. I really don't like the idea of giving him a new QB. I don't like the idea of giving him a chap like Tua, Lock, or Herbert to play with.

Look, just the change in pace with a new coach might be enough to give our team at least some lift. I don't like Jeff Fisher, but even HE would be an upgrade over Garrett IMO. I have other coaches that I want, but I could see that being Garrett's replacement. With that being said, I strongly think that we'd at least be set up nicely. I mean, the Rams at least had a decent defence which Phillips turned into....well....we all know by now.
