McCarthy is slippin'. I don't think he's nearly as good as people outside of GB portray him to be. Packers fans are starting to question him, more so after he took back the playcalling.

Pagano is a jingleheimer. Tomlin will be on the hot seat if he doesn't go deep this postseason, imo.

Sometimes coaches grow stale in a place. But I think it's silly to suggest SB winning coaches are overrated. It's not easy to win a SB and normally buffoons don't win SBs either.

I won't disagree. But McCarthy needs to do something here, as ARod starts to age.

What are your thoughts on Sean Payton?

Then I guess there is no such thing as a bad or average coach.

If all of them had built teams that were legitimate contenders, sure. The problem is, that's pretty tough to do in a competitive league.

Well if CoY means something then I shouldn't see people suggesting Garrett is better than Arians because Brice has two CoY awards.

Do people think Garrett is better than Arians, anyway? Arians is one of the best coaches in the league in my book.

Our coach has one playoff win in 7 years. To suggest he's built a contender is a stretch at this point.

Hey, he is giving it another go around in the Spring League, who knows.

Hardy's deal is that he did not exactly fit in. I won't pretend to know all that went down, but I think he was like others who got the magical Jerry wand when signed. He took things too far somehow. His play was not so awful that you just divorce yourself immediately. Nor do I accept that nobody knew what he was doing and how it all went down before the ******** article. He did not handle that backlash well and not many could. I feel a little sorry for him. But then again, we have a lot of others to feel sorry for. But no time for that. Unless they are draft picks like Gregory. That is different. Or something.

Garrett was absolutely terrified of Hardy. Never forget how he stood there and didn't even look Hardy's way as he slapped the clipboard out of one of our coaches hands and was spazzing on the sidelines. Garrett was so damn shook lol.

To get back on topic, I actually think Garrett is ranked too high. But good for him.

I didn't and I dont know who did.
The main message by all this is Garrett isn't a bad coach as many Cowboy fans? suggests he is.

So Garrett would just miss the playoffs if there were a game where they played out who was the best coach, not that they'd ever play a game like that.

LOL. McCarthy and Tomlin are SB winning coaches. They are ranked correctly.
McCarthy has had the supposed "best" QB this past decade but has only managed to make it past the NFCC once. They won it...great, but having the Lord King QB for 12 years (10 years as starter) and one trip to the Super Bowl? That's on McCarthy. They've gotten continual trips to the playoffs due to their ****** division yet keep laying eggs when it's time to take the next step. That 2014 NFCC game against Seattle was a perfect example of it. It was theirs for the taking but Fatty-Mac continually pussed-out in the redzone early and throughout the game. McCarthy is as fortunate as Tomlin in that they both have QB's that take control of the game and pick up the slack ofe the coaching staff. Without Rodgers and Roethlisberger, both of those coaches would've been out on their ***.

We've been about as consistent under Garrett as a team can be. We beat the teams we're better than, and lose to teams that are better than us. The toss-ups have been pretty even in terms of win-some, lose-some. We've been in the top-quartile of the league in terms of wins/losses under Garrett, and the team has consistently gotten better and won more games as a result.

And the playoff games, it's been discussed in many threads, but those games weren't lost because of coaching. They were lost because our defense wasn't able to play better because the talent hasn't been very good.

Some fans don't want to admit it, but that's whatever. The team's gone from bad in a poor cap situation to good in a good one under Garrett. There's no denying it.

As far as the general HC ranking goes, these linear rankings are silly. Every NFL coaching situation is different. Guys have different personnel support, different ownership support, different financial support, play in different divisions that are significantly more difficult or significantly easier. It's not an apples-to-oranges thing. What really matters is "is this coaching staff good enough to win an NFL championship." Looking at Dallas under Garrett, the most you can say right now is "maybe." He's definitely been a good coach for us. The question is how good?

LOL.........Here comes the cavalry again. Too bad your hero only got to 13. Must be a hard for you.

Yah, he has been real consistent. 8-8, 8-8, 8-8. Talk about low standard consistency.

But wait...............11-5, 4-12, 13-3? Where is the consistency in that? One again your laughable comments on Garrett are as hollow as your love for him.

And if you really want to admit something, admit that the only reason team isnt 8-8 right now is because we drafted Dak in the 4th round and struck gold. Which to admit something else, had little if anything to do with Jason Garrett.

You simply cannot judge all head coaches the same. Some have more power than others and some are the GM of the team and bring in the talent. Garrett doesnt GM here. Garrett is simply a walk around supervisor and also handles the in game clock management and overall scheme and aggressiveness during crunch time.

And if you look at how he performs during those crunch time moments he has to be the worst we have EVER seen doing it. I will say that he does appear to handle the walk around, clap, keep your spirits up part rather well. But when the team needs a boost or jolt or to be smacked down and give that extra great.............Garrett woefully lacks again.
