Well I will credit Garrett for Linehan, but not that it was some genius move... Linehan was just one of the very few guys available that Garret had any ties to.

But Jerry was still the one who said, "You aren't calling plays anymore. Find someone else to do it." Every single credible reporter close to the team has said Jason never wanted to give it up.

I just talked about this in my thread that I created. I saw more stubbornness out of JG in the last 2 years in his play calling and who would call the plays.

Credit Jerry for knowing that he couldn't do both and made him give it up.

He's crying? Just discussion on how the dynamics of the staff has changed for the better.

Wouldn't you agree something had to change?

He's not discussing anything. He comes here everyday bashing Jason Garrett whether we win or lose and if you don't agree with him your a homer. That's not a discussion.

Quit crying after big wins man it's pathetic.

I was thrilled during the game last night, I love running the ball. I was pretty excited last night after the game.

I had no intentions of posting much of anything today, .. just lurk and read.

Until I come on here and find a thread where some are praising Garrett, .. then I had to speak up.

He was the one thing last night that I didn't like.

I don't agree. It's been a good discussion today. I don't like Jason either but as I said previously they are all working well together. They all deserve credit even if decisions were forced as in Jerry delegating responsibilities or taking them away.

This whole thread and the purpose of the thread is pathetic. We're 4 games into the season and we're 3 and 1 and folks here act like we just won the SB and debating who to give "credit" to. What greater evidence do we need that this fan base is so hungry for a consistent team and back to back (to back) victories than this thread right here.

If we continue to make some noise and string together wins, then Garrett will stick around. It's not all that hard. He's in hot water in the final year of his contract because he just hasn't been a good playcaller and sideline/gameday coach. Hopefully that changes and the wins continue.

He took it back from Callahan last season. How did he do that without the authority to do that?

Cmon man. He's not just discussing anything. That is when guys lose credibility with me (not that they care), when they can't even be honest about what they are doing or someone else is doing. Khiladi wouldn't give Garrett credit if he called all 11 offensive players to the sideline, direct snapped it to himself and ran it in from 99 yards out. He would say Linehan's play call and Calahan's one man zone blocking schemes explain it all. :) I can give you a list of guys on this forum who will NEVER say Garrett is a good head coach regardless of what the Cowboys do. I could put money on that list and make a killing.

My sig is not my words, it's the guy that signs the paychecks. If you have an issue, take it up with him.

I make the same list of folks that think Garrett can do no wrong regardless of the results. And how would you know what people would say about Garrett if the Cowboys consistently win?

I'll tell you what, how about Garrett earn that trust and praise. Winning will do that.

We all saw how he did it -- he put Callahan in the box so that the play calls had to go through him. Jerry wasn't too happy about that.

:), not even a close comparison, and I can say that with confidence. I watch the posts of most of the guys who have supported Garrett from the beginning, because I'm one of them. I can tell you that most of those guys are thoughtful posters who just want the Cowboys to win. If firing Jason Garrett would produce a consistent winner, I would be the first one wanting to see him go, and I can say that with absolute sincerity. I just happen to believe keeping him here is what will produce a consistent winner. Still do. The particular guys I have in mind on the other side of the ledger have one drum and one drum stick, and they pound that drum every single time. And you will never see them budge.

lol...yep... so Jerry said, "and people around here wonder why we fail?"

Sure. When the GM admits his HC is a trainee has "all the miscues" and makes references to losses and sideline management, he's just pointing out what folks with half a brain see. At least Jerry was being honest. Kind of hard to fathom why some don't at least admit to someone's mistakes.

It didn't stop did it? I mean if he didn't have the authority to do that then it would have stopped after one game, right? Jerry would have stopped it, because, as you say, he wasn't too happy about that. Why didn't it stop?

Hey, I'm not saying he hasn't made any mistakes, he has. But I'm saying, and I will continue to say, that a great deal of the criticism coming from fans expresses nothing but ignorance or hysteria. In other words, some of those real mistakes are COMMON in the NFL and have been blown out of proportion to the 100th power.

Because Jerry didn't even know it was going on at the time. Garrett had to transfer the calls because the booth isn't allowed to speak directly to the QB... Pretty slick on his part.

If you remember, not even the fans or media knew until afterwards, although at the time it appeared Garrett was calling them himself when calls were made only a second or two after the previous play was over.

Here's my question, why did Callahan ever call plays if Jason would rather do it himself?
