Hey...Garrett's so good, even his assistant coaches are better than Sean Payton. Is that what I'm reading? Because then that's awesome.

It doesn't matter. Win enough games, and it'd be amazing how much Jason Garrett learned in just one season. Lose enough, and it doesn't matter whether the issue was with the head coaching, or not. He'll still be an idiot. I'm just going to enjoy last night a bit longer. And then remember it when people point out that they believe our team never out-coaches anybody. Because the Saints were definitely out-coached last night, and even Payton said as much in his post game comments. :)

All the while holding the knife in Ryans back:)

I'm out of energy on the subject Stash :) (and I have work to do!) But I can agree with you on that I think we are better off with him as a walk around head coach. I think the results are proving that. That is no shame. Jimmy Johnson and a whole host of others have proven that you can be a great head coach by overseeing the whole operation. Great for everybody!

Agreed!

If this is what it takes for it to work? Great!

If this is the team we see consistently? Awesome!

If they win and get in the playoffs? Give Garrett his extension as he's found his niche!

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...y-jones-cowboys-tony-romo-will-get-more-power

1. "(Tony) Romo will have more power under Linehan," Jones said via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Romo was ecstatic about Linehan ... They will be joined at the hip."

All part of the plan...

Sorry, kildadi. The HC gets credit for whatever happens in his downstream. Just like he gets blamed for whatever happens on his watch. That's the way it works. As much as you might want to blame Garrett for one coordinator's play calling, you have to credit him for another's. We can't keep playing the game of blaming the guy for everything bad and not crediting him for anything good and expecting nobody to notice the logical inconsistency.

Everything your seeing is because Red-Head has taken a back seat via Jerry Jones. Linehan and Romo are talking the whole game on the sidelines and Garrett is just sitting there on the side-lines signaling one-point conversions on TD scores... Jerry increased the communication between Romo and the new OC, while all the Garrett-homers were telling us Romo just kept audibling out of the run plays Garrett selected. Hell, even Garrett tried to throw Romo under the bus last year against Green Bay for 'changing the running play', as if the whole second half of abandoning the run was on Romo.

Whatever Jerry has said is taking place right before your eyes. It explains why the first drive, we ran play-action around four or five times. Unheard of with red-head...

I woke up this morning and put a Pork Loin in the crock pot. While I was holding that Pork Loin, it occurred to me that slapping my enemies with a Pork Loin would no doubt be very satisfying. This thread did nothing to quell my urge to slap my enemies with a pork loin. I just need to find enemies.

I have to admit, I took a little bit of satisfaction from the confused look on Buddy Jr's face when we beat his pressure for TDs a couple of times last night. :)

Linehan & the oline is making everyone look good right now. Including....Jerry Jones.... And we know he is terrible at his job.

Hey, after last night's win, I'm willing to take it easy on everybody for a while, even our own Al Davis...

:), I'm very happy this morning. Have been 3 weeks in a row. I think I will be for a long time in the future too on this whole question. I think the blinders are on the folks who hate him.

I'm happy too. We should focus on the positives and less on the negatives.

Hell, it also explains to a degree why our defense looks better. This team is keeping them off the field without the consistent 3 and outs of yester-years.

Last year, the defense was the reason they lost, despite the TOs they generated, the implication being they never needed to change anything on offense per the Garrett-homers. Yelling off stats that the offense was top 5 and nothing needed to change. Guess what... They changed and they look so much better, because of changing the offense primarily, sucking up the clock with long drives that result in the TDs.

Linehan head coaching record - 11-25. From 8-8, to 3-13, to 0-4, to FIRED. I don't think he is the ultimate explanation. :) I like our head coach and I like Linehan doing just what he is doing. Coordinating.

Im not saying Linehan is a great head coach.

His playcalling compared to what we're used to has taken us to another level.

We've been begging for a real NFL playcaller for years and you can see the difference it has made.

The best thing about all of this is the the Cowboys have kinda caught the NFL with their pants down because everyone is building their defense to stop the pass and all of the offenses are running spread formations.

Meanwhile Dallas is just going to run it down your throat and most teams just aren't built to stop it.

It's a finesse league right now and we are one of the few Physical teams.

Can't wait to see Dallas versus Seattle.. physical versus physical.. a true test of whether Dallas will bring the nasty...

Yes Linehan is making a difference. Johnson took over hired David Shula offense looked poor he is sent packing in comes Norv Turner. So pretty much it was Norv Turners winning games after all Jimmy was not calling anything. Fine if you feel no need to credit Garrett, have at it at least stop the hypocritical comments about Garrett when we lose. It seems to be because Jason when we lose yet wins he does not share it. That is the inconsistency in your comments, willing to lay the blame at his feet yet to bull headed to credit him for any success.
Personally I said right here at the end of last season I would have fired Garrett, not because I don’t think he understand the game, hell I think he understands this game a lot more than his critics at this sight but it comes down to winning and losing.
If Garrett can help this team get over the hump then great Cowboys benefit and in terms of his coaching staff you bet they play a critical role as do all coaching staffs around the league.

Should be a great game but Seattle just seems like a better version of what we are. Plus it is at Seattle.

Can't wait for it but lets see how the Cowboys play against Houston when everyone is telling them how good they are.. This is typically when the Cowboys let us down.

Of course Norv Turner made the difference... I've been saying it for years that we need a new play caller, because Jason Garrett absolutely sucks at it. So what exactly is your point? That Garrett sucked at play calling like I said?

Good point. Let's see how they handle Watt as well... He's having a phenomenal year. Offensively, the Texans aren't a threat. With Linehan, I didn't see any reason them not making the play-offs. The way they are playing, I think, if it is real, they've become a legitimate threat.

Point is he is the HC that is not a demoted role on the team. Jimmy advice from the get go was there is too much on a coaches plate to being HC and play caller. As HC he has a big role with this team over seeing it all and when the team fails it falls on him as it should and if they have success then again it should also fall on him. Using Garrett only as some scape goat for loses and yet acting as if he does nothing when they win is very much being hypocritical. If you feel he has no say, no role then stop throwing blame when they lose.

I don't speak for anyone else, .. but I have never said I hate him or anything close to that because I don't. You keep using that word, but it is not accurate.

That guy is on his way to being the best DL to ever play.

Maybe Frederick got to practice against him at Wisconsin....????

No, it's not.. He didn't want to abandon play-calling duties. He kept interfering even last year per Jerry Jones. He's essentially been relegated to walking the sidelines, not by choice. If you think that he deserves credit, have at it. I'm not buying it. He's only here still, because he's Jerry's toy to make himself look like a genius.

I have no idea.. All I know is that reports had him yelling at his teammates for their slack and then he proceeded to INT the ball and return it like 60 yards.
