Ok. He's what 33 now? So how can he be the best version of himself in 4 or 5 years if he's not playing? That's playing pretty close to 40 which is what I said.

He is saying he has learned much and feels he has developed into the player he had hoped he wanted to be six, seven years ago and feels he can play at this level over the course of the next 4 to 5 years. As for being close to 40? he would be 37 4 years from now and 38 5 years from now. So what, he would not be the 1st QB to play at that age. Heck Peyton is 38, Brees is 35 and Brady is 36

Anyone else get the feeling we will never get the 100% absolute truth on Tony's back the rest of his career?

I think people choose not to listen, they plan on having him out there Sat afternoon working 1st team and have said that they will limit him to start camp. Garrett has talked about it and so has Romo. Romo says he feels good and is 100% as have the medical staff who cleared him that does not mean that they need to put him through the full rigors to start training camp.

I knew it, I knew it.

After hearing troy talk, I knew the back would find it's way to screw us

Tony is 34, and hasn't had nearly the protection those 3 (all-time great) QB's have had.

Also, his frame is quite a bit smaller than Tom Brady's or Peyton Manning's. He's more susceptible to injury because, to be honest, he's built like an average joe.

He COULD last until 37-38, but I highly doubt it.

and that is an opinion. I can't say for sure how many year Romo will or will not play, I do know Romo knows his body better than you or I. Peyton came off 2 major sugery on his neck and is still playing again we don't know sometime you have to trust the player since as I said he knows his own body better than us.

Peyton had 3 or 4 surgeries. 4 I think. He had nerve damage & is not the passer he was but they have a great offense & it didn't seem to matter much till the SB bit them & him in the butt.

I prefer to think of it as another genius move by the FO. One of many in recent memory.

If Romo can't go and Weeden is the starter, then we are clearly in the running for a top 5 pick where we land our next franchise QB. I think its all part of the 8 year rebuild plan.

Don't forget with the tied in injury excuse, we could stretch this plan 2 decades;)

I think the Seahawks defense had a lot more to do with that. Not the passer he was? he broke NFL records for TD throws with 55 TD's with only 10 ints he threw for more yards than any year in his career and his accuracy was over 68%

How do some of you people get through life? What do you do when there's a tornado warning, gather together in a room and ponder suicide?

Read and try to comprehend what Garrett said in his presser. There's no need for Romo to get work in every practice, especially the early ones. There's a huge difference between watching a guys work load and lying about an injury. They do the same exact thing with all guys who are coming off injuries.

Now get off the bridge and resume with your lives.

Oh goodness. He does not have the arm strength he had. That is what I meant. I said they have a great offense & it did not matter much till the SB. I realize he had a banner year. I think he's the best QB ever. He's not the passer he was. He's still better than pretty much everyone else though.

Yup, but it is only because back injuries are so tricky to predict. No one really knows how one person's surgically-repaired back is going to hold up as compared the another guy with the same type injury. There just aren't any guarantees -- all anyone can do is hope for the best.

Babe is making stuff up now.
Nobody said said standing actually hurts Romo's back.
The only mention of standing g and back was when Garrett said back surgery is serious and the are even so e people who have back pain just from standing.
This Twitter world has become a scramble for attention. Babe is stooping a little low there.

Like was sId above, back injuries ARE impossible to 100% predict.

But with Romo saying today that he honestly thinks his best days are ahead and that he feels he's finally becoming the QB he wanted to be 6-7 years ago....that does not sound like so done in pain.

It would just be really dumb to rush this. He threw well this morning, that us his pitch count for today.

This franchise under Garrett doesn't have a good track record of reporting injuries accurately whatsoever. There already is a reversal of what was said on how much Romo would be practicing.

Romo being throttled down is a big red flag. Even Mike Fisher is tweeting as much. Also several tweets by the media were sent out about him needing 4 hours of rehab time just to get ready to practice.

Is this pre-mature, sure...but then again I'll defer to history of reporting injuries under JG.

I don't care as long as he is healthy and really full go by a mid preseason

Having said this , Romo injured is a Garrett wet dream, gives him the perfect get out of jail free card

It's already set up for him, unknown defense, ailing QB, and the GM won't fire him on the basis on the record.
