The Next Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys is now going to be the next Head Coach of the Rams?!

Man what a difference a year makes.

Can't say I like it.

Funny that Jerry goes from making the guy the highest paid coordinator in one year, to basically showing him the door the next. TO, Romo, and even Jerry seem to think the guy's no good.

Can't say 'good riddance' enough. Waste of air.

Jerry isn't showing him the door, he's consistantly allowed staff to seek opportunities to advance their careers. He said he wanted Bill to stay right before Bill retired, but he didn't try to talk him out of retirement.

Weird. Hansen is saying right now that he called everyone in STL -- team and media there -- and they insist Garrett isn't about to be hired.

Several reports have been that he's been more than happy to let him go. And that wasn't the case 12 months ago.

Yeah I've seen those as well, but who knows. He already made huge overtures to the guy last year, I mean what's he going to do, raise his salary three million every year?

If he had any desire for him to be the HC at this moment he'd just give him the job now.

But he can't, or won't, because it'd be incredibly stupid.

Agreed, his hands are kind of tied by his own actions. I just don't think there's much more he could do without seeming like he's laying down for Garrett.

I mean at my job if my boss doubled my salary last year and this year I'm still looking for a "better" opportunity or job, I wouldn't expect him to say or do anything else for me. I know he wants me here at that point, it's me that's looking to get the hell out of there.

I honestly think he'd rather have the $6 million over the next two years and have another coordinator. I cannot stress how poorly you have to be as a coach when even Tony Romo criticizes your scheme.

Yea. But I pretty much called this one out in another thread . . .

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143991

Bill Devany interviewed Garrett last year when he was the front runner for the Atlanta job. They offered it to him back then.

Add to that the timing of releasing Haslett (he interviewed with the Rams Wednesday, and that same evening Devaney let Garrett go) was a sure sign.

Spagnuolo wants personnel control and he won't get that in St. Louis with a GM in place.

Plus Bill Devaney really, really likes Garrett ....

Now Hansen is saying Garrett will be named the Rams HC... Sounds like he's getting that from a Fox 4 report.

Who knows...
