Tony Romo's collarbone
Barry Horn: The most important question [about Tony Romo] is how long will he stay healthy?

Brandon George: That's the big question mark: can he stay healthy? The injuries have come, obviously, when he's been hit and fallen on that shoulder. So that's the key thing: how can he take the hits and how will that preventative surgery help? That Mumford procedure is supposed to help prevent further breaks, but there's nothing guaranteed. Obviously he gets hit the right way it could happen again.

Is Rolando McClain committed enough?
Kevin Sherrington: We had a guy missing from Valley Ranch last week and that was Rolando McClain.

It's too bad guys like Rolando won't see fit to respect the importance of reliability. Any team values that trait to no small extent.

Can you believe he's still only 26? He's about to enter his prime and he just isn't focusing.

If he were thinking straight, he'd do everything in his power to build the staff's confidence in him rather than doing just the opposite. It's a waste.

As it is, the team is keeping him around with one year contracts until such time as they get someone to replace him. Next year, he may be gone.

I really don't think he cares. He knows what he's earned so far can probably settle him for life in Alabama.

You can't just make someone love the game. I'd like to see him gone, if we had comparable takent, but as long as he's still better than the alternative on game day, it's in our best interests to just keep him around.

He's probably just known as "that guy" in the locker room so I don't think it's a big deal. Everyone knows he's on rental contracts, and as long as he's busting heads on Sunday it's probably a non issue.

If he had a long term deal he'd probably be looked at completely differently.

So taking a player at the top of the 2nd round who doesn't figure to help you this year is proof that a head coach who needs to win now to keep his job has more personnel control?

I doubt it.

Are we convinced Garrett needs to win now? He surely can't have another 4 win season on him but if he gets 9 or 10 wins and wins the division his job is more than likely safe.

As tough as the NFL is..... I have a hard time believing someone would play this sport for just a check. Especially a college graduate.

And Jaylon Smith does nothing to get you those 9 or 10 wins this year. That's my point.

Haha. More control than what?

He's the head coach. He should have total control.

If Jaylon Smith is able to play and play well enough to replace him, I think McClain will be gone. Perhaps talent doesn't always come first. They have to care enough to do what's necessary to begin with. He may discover that the money he made so far won't last forever.

Do any of you KNOW what his family situation is/was? He has had custody issues right? What if it had something to do with that? Can you make the judicial system conform to your time line? Can you make the mother/s conform to your time line? You all come on here and says he isn't focused when in reality you have NO CLUE what his mind set is. Would I love for him to be at the completely "Voluntary" workouts? Yes I would but if he isn't there that is well within his rights per the CBA. If he has an injury or misses part of TC then I can see that as an issue.

But, as long as he balls on Sundays then I am ok with it as a fan.

I'll admit I don't have a clue. But everything we see leads me to believe his mind isn't set on being the best football player he can be for the Dallas Cowboys.

Maybe it isn't. Maybe he is focusing on being the best dad he can be. From what I read his children are very important to him. I like you honestly don't know so I won't assume anything. I do know that I have taken off from work on multiple occasions to deal with family issues. Look the man is a single parent, he may or may have anyone else to assist him that he trust. It may not have had anything to do with his kids, all we know is that the organization said 'family issues" that could mean anything from his children to a death in the family. We don't know.

Point well taken. You also have to remember that fans don't view players as people with lives outside of football. Fans think because he's a professional NFL player that his mind is on football 24/7 - 365 days a year. There is a reason players are often referred to as "pieces."
