Getting Pacman Jones will advance our team 2 maybe 3 years.

Getting Pacman Jones is like having three first round draft picks this year.

Honestly getting him puts us in the position to perfect our team. There really aren't many holes after we get Jones. I think the only thing we'd really have to do is cement our defensive line on top of getting some offensive talent. We probably should replace Spears.

What I think it will do is allow us to be more flexible in the first round. Now we can take a RB and WR in the first round and a corner in the second since it will no longer be a pressing need.

you don't replace solid players, you just don't, whether they play DE or SS,
YOU DON'T REPLACE SOLID PLAYERS

I take it that you're buying his "reformed" act, and that you think he'll stay out of jail for the next three or four years?

I'm not sold...I'm not against the signing, but I'll reserve my judgment for a year or so.

Not a fan of this move at all. Spears is getting better w/ pressure and is very solid against the run. Nothing wrong w/ Spears anymore. He is doing his job.

You can't have outstanding players at every position.

Agreed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our DLine right now. There's no reason to tinker with something that isn't broken. I worry about LB more than D-Line.

We know how you feel about Jones Tom. Thanks for clarifying it YET again.

It is amazing the kind of talent we've gotten off the trash heap in recent history. Terry Glenn, Terrell Owens, Tank Johnson, Adam Jones. All first round talents that we got for little or nothing in terms of draft picks.

You know. I have no problem w/ it whatsoever. I think its great how we can do this. You have to be flexible in todays NFL. If you can make the numbers work and the reward far outweighs the risk, then I am all for getting this talent into Dallas.

What ever happens with him off the field happens or doesn't happen. I'm focused on what he can do for our pass defense lined up next to terence newman, and henry in the nickel... you can't pass on that. Add zach thomas and you have a defense built to beat the patriots.

Don't forget Mark Columbo either. Also a first round talent we took a chance on. Hamlin was a 2nd rounder i believe.

True. I was thinking of Colombo when I typed it but for some reason didn't type his name. Hamlin's a good one as well.

The name isn't Tom.

...and what is THAT supposed to mean. I've rarely voiced my opinion on this subject...and I'm all FOR the signing.

So, what's your point?

Forgive me if I'm not ready to proclaim Pacman Jones as the Dallas Cowboys' savior.

Getting Pacman more than offsets for Bobby Carpenter and maybe even Anthony Spencer being busts. We have to do better in this years first round. Other than Ware, we haven't been hitting it.

I think people are afraid of the rabid Unicorn in your avatar. I am curious as to how they structure these "ethical issues" in contracts to protect the franchise from further problems like TO's. Pac should have the same type of contract and if he gets into trouble, something will be written in the contract to protect the Cowboys' interests. Although if something did happen, we would be short on that position til it got properly filled with adequate talent.

Spears is trash i think its ludicris for people to see its a pass happy league but want to have a DE that can't get any pressure on the QB.

I'm curious too...I'd love to see how they hash that stuff out.

I think it was the slapping around and spit on comment I saw from you the other day. I just searched your posts regarding AJ.

You are correct. Though you haven't been an out and out true supporter of bringing him here, you haven't been who was railing against it like I originally thought.

My appologies.

Tom was short for me banging out your handle. Sorry.

Ill stick w/ TomsonUnicornWhisperer75 next time? :)
