I suspect Spagnulo will become interim HC and Eli reinstated as the starter.

And the team will rally around Eli. This will be a very tough game for the Cowboys.

No way in hell the Giants are gonna jeopardize losing Josh Rosen for a victory over the Cowboys. They have been tanking especially hard...no need to stop now.

The only other tank job I can think of that was this obvious was the Colts tanking for Luck.

Do you really think any coach can convince JPP, Olivier Vernon, Landon Collins and Eli Manning that they have to throw games?

I don't.

I don't believe they give a **** about Josh Rosen or anybody else in the draft.

I think it is fair to say that Garrett has been the most underqualified head coach we have had. He never coached a major college football program, he never spent years as a coordinator under an established head coach, thus being part of a "coaching tree", and when he was hired the extent of his coaching experience was being a QB coach for a couple of seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

And yes, regardless of you thinking Jerry is an idiot, it is true that Garrett has had growing pains as he learned to be a first time head coach. He has made game day blunders with clock management and situational football. That is why Jerry said he would be reluctant to fire Garrett because he didn't want him going to another team and using what he learned from his mistakes here somewhere else for their benefit. We needed to be the ones to benefit from all the mistakes Garrett made early on, ergo his famous "head coach in training" statement.

And yet, he built a 12 and 13 game winner and won more games than 2/3rds of the league or so in the process while rebuilding the team and learning on the fly, as you suggest.

I generally reject that 'Jerry's ego' narrative out of hand. He's too good a businessman to let his $5BB product be run by a guy he doesn't believe in just because he wants to prove something. Plus, it doesn't make sense. If he didn't think he had the right guy, it's in his ego's interest to bring in the right guy so that he can prove he's capable of building a perennial powerhouse. That's much more of an ego boost than being right on Jason Garrett would ever be. Not to mention that multiple other teams were also impressed by and willing to make Garrett their HC, anyway.

The idea that we reached precipitously with Garrett just isn't accurate. Had we not hired him for the HC gig when we did, more than one other team was interested in doing so. Our fans just want to say that he wasn't ready because Jerry made the comment about having invested in his training because Jerry is an emasculating idiot sometimes.
Its easier to say Jerry and JG suck for this crowd

The lack of results do that just fine.

They "say" more than any words can.

Garrett is the eighth-longest tenured head coach in the NFL; six of the seven who have been in their position longer than Garrett have won at least one Super Bowl.

Yeah, what a "tenure"!

So 6 coaches in the nfl have super bowl rings. ok gotcha. He's been HC for 6 yrs and is the 8th longest tenured HC. in those 6 yrs Dallas has had a legit 2 chances to reach the superbowl. Gotcha. Im not a Garrett fan but too many of you hate the guy because he doesnt do what you want the team to do.

He also built an 8-8 season, another 8-8 season after that, another 8-8 season after that again, a 4-12 season, and now a 6-6 season.

Funny how Garrett gets absolute credit from you that "he built" those 12 and 13 win seasons but when the other records are brought up you say "there are reasons other than coaching we lost" as has been your response before in other threads.

So let me get this straight, winning seasons due to Garrett building them, but losing seasons are due to cosmic forces beyond his control:huh:

We've been over that ground many times. I don't fault the guy for getting bad teams to 8-8. 2015 we all know what the issues were.

But not every coach can put together a 12+ win season. Those don't happen by accident, and they don't happen in spite of the head coach. Garrett's done it twice.

Our issues are with talent, and not with the staff

But hasn't there been multiple changes to the staff, even at the coordinator level, while Garrett has been head coach?

Wouldn't that indicate a staff problem, or why make changes otherwise?

Why can't we send a message and do the same?
They just fired a GM that won 2 Suberbowls in the last 10 years.
On the other hand we continue to roll with a GM that's managed 2 playoff wins in 21 years.
What message are you sending?

Read what I posted. Again. Then reread it as many times as you need to in order for it to register.

Of all of the coaches who have kept their jobs as long as he has, only he and Marvin Lewis have failed to win a Super Bowl and have kept their jobs. Only the Bengals and Cowboys have put up with their coaches failing to get the job done this long and kept them around.

The Cowboys are in Bengals territory. Maybe now it will sink in?

You're right, I "hate" the fact that he keeps his job despite not being able to win.

Everything has been changed out. From every player other than Witten, to every assistant coach and coordinator. They've all been changed out. Except for Garrett. And yet, the disappointing results remain. Eventually, even the blindest can see the truth.
