I generally reject that 'Jerry's ego' narrative out of hand. He's too good a businessman to let his $5BB product be run by a guy he doesn't believe in just because he wants to prove something. Plus, it doesn't make sense. If he didn't think he had the right guy, it's in his ego's interest to bring in the right guy so that he can prove he's capable of building a perennial powerhouse. That's much more of an ego boost than being right on Jason Garrett would ever be. Not to mention that multiple other teams were also impressed by and willing to make Garrett their HC, anyway.

The idea that we reached precipitously with Garrett just isn't accurate. Had we not hired him for the HC gig when we did, more than one other team was interested in doing so. Our fans just want to say that he wasn't ready because Jerry made the comment about having invested in his training because Jerry is an emasculating idiot sometimes.

I agree, the Ravens and the Falcons wanted him as head coach after the 2007 years. The question is would they want him now? Jerry has only hired coaches that if the Cowboys are successful then Jerry would be able to get the credit. He hired Jimmy but when Jimmy got all the credit for those 2 SBs he fired a two-time, back to back, reigning, defending (insert Brock Lesnar jokes) super bowl champion coach. If you really think about that, it's amazing that really never happens. The only other thing that comes remotely close is the 49ers firing Harbaugh. Then he hired Parcell and was caught on camera phone admitting that he did it to get the stadium bill passed. I remember after firing Pascells Jerry said something like "I don't have to walk on eggshells anymore". Those are the only two legitimate, respected, head coaches that he's ever hired. The other coaches were inexperience coaches Hailey, Switzer, Campo, Phillips and Garrett. So yes his ego does get in the way of us winning and his role as GM/owner does not allow for the gm to suffer repercussions for underperformance. He just comes out and says that he takes the blame but what does that really do with out consequences. Nothing,

It's official, Eli's back! He will have a Legacy Game against us
Yes, because he's been absolutely stellar, so far, this season. He had literally NOTHING to do with their 2-10 start. The stupidity around here would be offensive to the casual observer. Fortunately, regular exposure renders the rest of us numb to it.

Wentz and Carr both run the same system, dink and dunk most of their passes, yet everybody loves them.
Carr is slightly over-rated (IMO), but Wentz doesn't dink and dunk. It isn't just the eye test, Eagles are in the top 10 of the League's yards per attempt-- the Cowboys are in the bottom 10:

Note: I think Dak can be a winning QB, but more along the lines of an Alex Smith style high-end game manager. I see Wentz as a play-making along the lines of a Big Ben.

This is very similar to Jerry.

Mara fired coughlin, hired an undeserving coach without the experience for the job because he didn’t want manning to have to learn a new offense.

Then oversaw a front office that invested in wr and left him with no running game and prima donnas in the locker room

Then Mara told Reese he wanted smith and Webb to get into games down the stretch and McAdoo and Reese told manning he would be pulled but keep his streak in tact.

It all backfired. They are 2-10 and botched the manning handling.

So Mara fired everyone to save face with fans and probably Eli Manning.

Almost to a tee something Jerry would do.

I could have sworn Eli had to learn a new offense once Gilbride was asked to leave and Macadoo came in in 2014

HAHAHA. McAdoo and Reese get the sack!! Shunpike will be happy. Now everybody knows where the power was based. McAdoo was done anyway. Reese's drafting was terrible and that was his downfall.

That's it, our season ends where it started... playing the Giants. They will rally around Eli and their interim coach Spagnuolo. Mara gets one more punch in at Jerry Jones this season and this rivalry is just getting more bitter. I'd love it if we could stop all that hubbub by mustering up the strength to overcome all that and come out with the win but I don't see it in the tea leaves.

They have a QB. He just doesn't arrive until April.

They won't be idiots like the Cowboys and assume Eli's playing for 5 more years so they don't "need" that blue chip QB prospect at the top of the draft.

Fresh GM, head coach and franchise QB prospect. I envy the Giants.
That's weird, I recall you saying that there are no good QB prospects coming out this year.

It would be just fitting to have Eli go off and end the cowboys season. I can so see it happening.

Yes. That is the point he didn’t want him to have to do it again.

Next time try and understand what you are reading before you act sarcastic.

You do?

Tell me more about things you think I said.
Settle down internet warrior, you posted that a few days ago I can't recall which thread since you post on everything.
It was something like
"Cowboys wasted an apportunity moving up for a blue chip quarterback (referring to your butt-buddy) there are no good quarterbacks coming out."
