Why can't we send a message and do the same?

I suspect Spagnulo will become interim HC and Eli reinstated as the starter.

And the team will rally around Eli. This will be a very tough game for the Cowboys.

I say good. Good for the owner showing some backbone and holding coaches accountable. I hope one day our owner does the same.

Regardless of all that, no matter who the new coach may be, I hope they come at us with everything they have. Would rather this team be battle tested and ready for the playoffs or go home.

We are finally backed in a corner with no way to go but forward. If we lose we can go out on our shields, tank the rest of the games. Win and continue until there is no one left to beat.

I understand where Reese was coming from. He wanted to make one last push for another Super Bowl for Eli.

His mistake was spending all the money on defense while ignoring the running game and o-line. It ultimately cost him his job.

He did it for himself, not for Eli. He was on the same hot seat that Coughlin was and spent like crazy in an effort to save his own skin. It bought him two years and will cost the franchise about five at least.

Mara has no backbone at all. He's a sniveling weasel.

When the Josh Brown situation came to light, he hid from the press, and actually made McAdoo answer for it every day, even though McAdoo had no say in personnel, and had nothing to do with Brown's contract extension.

When the time came for the Manning benching, rather than make himself directly involved in the move, and to speak to the press as it happened, he left it to his special needs head coach to deliver and execute the move. When it went like the train wreck that it did, Mara then suddenly decided to speak to the press, and blamed the execution even though he had signed off on the whole thing, in fact, he made the suggestion to Reese and McAdoo. He also let word of the imminent firing leak ahead of yesterday's game, and let his coach twist in the wind.

Does that sound like someone with backbone?

That is what the Mara's have been doing since they bought the team. It is also exactly what nobles and patrician types have been doing for thousands of years.

My visceral reaction is to loathe them.

There's a rumor of Pioli and McDaniels being the next GM/HC combo.

Pioli has no ties to the giants though.

O’brien Worked under belichick for years and his father was the giants doctor. He is a Harvard graduate with a long scouting background.

Pioli is from suburban NY (grew up in the town next to where I grew up), and is Parcells' son in law. The NY papers have proferred that this would bring Parcells back to the organization in a ceremonial capacity.
