This is why there is a delay from live action to what you see on tv, among other reasons.

I thought the delay was mostly to catch and mute out cuss words that the microphones might catch during the game ( though an earlier broadcast last Sunday didn't catch the m f word blurted out - bet some guy got fired over that )

It was five plays, folks. With a QB who almost always audibles anyway. It made exactly zero difference in a game where we were thoroughly shut down on offense all night. This penalty was more than fair IMO -- maybe even a bit harsh.

I doubt Eli needs last second advice from McA-Hair-doo

If the benefit gained was the determining factor, than how can anyone agree with the deflategate penalties? a few deflated footballs was not the difference in that game.

That's a reasonable penalty. McAdoodoo likely didn't realize he was doing something wrong at the time. He's in plain sight. He's not an experienced coach. Yes, he should have known but guys who have limited experience are going to screw up occasionally

Pretty strong for using a walkie talkie instead of a failed helmet radio

Pretty strong? Their going to be picking in the 20s in the draft and their 4th round pick will now be the 32nd. That is pretty damn weak considering what other teams got penalized for cheating.

This is worse than Cleveland in 2014, when their GM was texting the HC.

Didn't we get Dak at the end of the 4th round

Just FYI this is worst than what the 2014 Browns did when the GM had an in game conversation with OC Kyle Shannahan. The Browns lost a draft pick for that infraction. Now the Giants dock 12 spots in the 4th rd. Fair? Just? Goodell being inconsistent? I think he is.

The Pats plotted before the game to intentionally cheat

The NYG tried to correct a problem with malfunctioning equipment

I see a huge difference

Haha what a joke. Worse than deflategate and the Browns.

Sorry but as a head coach in the NFL and getting paid millions of dollars, ignorance isn't an excuse when it comes to a rule that's as obvious as that one.

If that's the precedent, then i'm prepping to use them in the Super Bowl if it comes down to it. Fine and moving a 4th? Yeah, i'll take that.

let me ask you this, if walkie talkies aren't allowed, how did they get them? did someone run out to radio shack or best buy to pick them up during a commercial break? I'm not saying they caused the malfunction, but they clearly had them around in case they needed them, which required pre planning and the league makes it known that it isn't allowed.

There are a handful of reasons a team would have walkie talkies around....practice...security......talking to the booth...I don't see the conspiracy

If you want to keep fighting knock yourself out

Intent. Intent. Intent. HUGE difference.

NE = predetermined plan involving multiple organization employees to violate rules seeking an unfair competitive advantage (and not the first time, ether - see: spying on St. Louis Rams; using video to steal signals, etc.).

NYG = misguided effort to troubleshoot an unforeseen technical problem in order to restore the competitive balance (with no priors).

Not even close.

Every cop, security guard and team official in my section at AT&T carries one. Not sure why you'd be surprised they'd have them at MetLife, too.

Give it up already.

I didn't say it was a conspiracy, and specifically said I'm not saying they caused the malfunction, but if you believe that the Giants did not know it was against the rules, you're being naive.

My suspicion is that McAdoo may in fact have NOT known the rule (I mean, how often does this happen? Hell, Donovan McNabb didn't even know games could end in ties). It was a mistake -- one that violated the rules, and for which a division rival was therefore justly penalized. Why make a federal case about it?

so they cop, security guard and technician gave up their walkie talkies that they need to do their job? god forbid someone had some kind of injury, I'd love to see a Judge's face when they explained that they could not evacuate a section because the coaching staff needed the security guards walkie talkies.
