Shawn Springs will not be released this year. However, Springs has clearly lost a step. He got owned by TO this year, and didn't look too good against Seattle. I would still retain him though. Also, we can easily get 15 million below salary cap this year. Link below:

He's lost a step, got owned, and didn't look good, but you want to keep him?

Very good. Now if he's released you can claim it wasn't the cap but the excuses you just made.

Are you going to claim "cap hell" if we release Philip Daniels and Cornelius Griffin? Those guys aren't that good and are always injured. What if we release Jon Jansen? He was injured the whole year as well. Springs is injury prone too. Hell, he was injury prone in Seattle.

I guess it's fortunate that the Skins' roster is always well-stocked with such lousy players, thus making it easier for them to cut the deadwood, and go out and get more, even more expensive lousy players...

ROTFLMAO...

you can bash the skins for a lot of things, but getting under the cap is not one of them. this happens every year. and every year, they work it out.

at the end of last year, i was agreeing with many of you guys about the lack of depth. this year, they had depth.

as far as making the big free agent splash, they were relatively quiet this past offseason.

as far as walt harris and dockery, many posters here dont know enough about it to really comment, but harris was simply not good here and dock was good for all of about 8 games- his last 8 before becoming a free agent. before that, he was a bust and the clear weak link in the line- not 2 guys you want to keep around- esp with what dock was getting from buffalo.

And look at the juggernauts they put on the field, doing it that way...

The really good teams get that way through CONTINUITY, which is something the Skins can never have, using the approach they do...

as far as making the big free agent splash, they were relatively quiet this past offseason.

And you Skin fans blithely assume this is because Danny Boy finally has it figured out, when in point of fact it was cap constraints that FORCED them to be "relatively quiet"...

Remember, their names were linked to every big name on the open market last offseason... they made a run at Leonard Davis, they tried real hard to trade for Lance Briggs... ultimately, a lack of cap flexibility killed their possibility of making any deals for name players...

Hmmm, Harris was not good in DC, went to San Francisco, and became a Pro Bowler... how come that all-pro coaching staff out at Commanders Park couldn't get that talent out of him??
