And on cue, I give you Mr. Zrinkill.

Let me guess, the coaches are not limiting Roy's playing time, they just want him to spend more time on the sidelines so he can grace them with his greatness.

Guys what's so hard to understand about my point of view?

Its easy to understand people with an agenda. Roy has a great game you bash him for one pass given up
It's not like it's one pass in one game. It's been going on for years.

No it hasnt, but this is one game this thread is talking about.
The coaches now take him off of the field to limit his exposure, yet in the few instances when he's on the field on a big passing play, the opposing team still finds him for a big gain.

already proven false no need to respond
He has NOT ONE pass defended in all the times that he's been targeted - not one. If he was as good in the passing game as some of you think (imagine) he is, don't you think he'd have at least one?

So his 4 PD's and 2 INTs didnt really happen?

So again, IMO, he's performing half of his requirements for the mere price tag of $11 million.

11 million over how many years?

I bet you are one of the ones blaming all of shockeys catches on Roy arent you? Admit it

Bob, I get your bit too.

I know, you guys love Roy. He can do no wrong. Coaches don't hide him.

He's just the only SS who plays SS about 1/3 of the game given his movement to nickel LB or to the sideline.

He's great.

Blah, blah, blah.

Bob, I'm not very smart

I know, you guys love Roy. He gets beat just as much as any SS in the game. Coaches don't want to put him in a position where he's matched w/ a more athletic player.

He's just the only SS who makes more plays than any other SS.

oh, did I say I wasn't smart?

Blah, blah, blah.

I don't see how you can say he has not defended even one pass when he has been credited for two interceptions and 4 pass deflections. Do you not remember the good play on the ball against the Rams(?)? Those are the facts.

Also, he had another big hit a couple of weeks ago... this wasn't his first.

you seriously saying he plays 1/3 of the game? Because you are I can not respond anymore. My mother taught me it is not nice to pick on the mentally challenged

You mean you saw Hamlin take his legs out?

Come on, where in NJ are you :p

Actually, right now I live in Vegas and Ca (long story) and I have a house in Forked River NJ.

I used to live in Galloway around 9 years ago though.

I saw Roy not getting there whether Hamlin hit him or not.

I'm sorry, I can't beleive people are defending this guy when he

a) harldy makes big hits anymore. Tonights was the first that I can remember in a long time.
b) has to get taken out because he is a liability in coverage. What other starting safties are taken out in pass coverage? I have to start taking notice of that.
c) starts pointing at a teamate when a TD is scored. (see Giants game).

That is just pathetic for a player considered to be a dominant, special player.

Keep in mind that I was one of the biggest RW fans in existence. I just can't defend him anymore.

Smartest thing you've said all day.

Throwing a lazy shoulder when the runner had someone on him already is hardly a bit hit.

Decent...big for him lately but hardly what he used to be.

Awww, you're responses are so cute.

You're always saying what a great STRONG SAFETY he is, and I'm saying that given his playing time at nickel LB and on the sidelines, he's not playing SS as much as you think he is.

you do know that the footage is in slow-motion right?

you musn't have watched the game, because the hit in live-action looked violent and it made a huge popping sound

it even had Gspot fans singing oooh

Umm, yeah. I remember the hit.

Looked good in live action, not as impressive when you really look at the hit again.

Take a look at the "boom" video to see some real hits.

These two hits this year and I beleive 0 for last year are the best he has now. That is pathetic.

Exactly. You saw how Jacobs was pushing the piles all game. If you think a lazy shoulder could have sent him back like that, I think that says enough about the delusions the haters are resorting to.

No one is perfect, especially Roy. I want to see his play elevate. I want to see more of the "old" Roy, but I don't see the fascination some people get out of constantly criticizing and knocking his play, when in comparison to other safeties, he's doing pretty well.

Bob, do you get a W-9 from Roy?

You have to be on his payroll.

You can't even bring yourself to admit he's a liability?

because when he hits Jacobs, the tape is slooowed down

probably as slow as your reaction time

btw, not debating that Roy hasn't been hitting as much as he used to, but you're really glossing over this particular hit to try and make a point

He shouldn't be in pass defense so much. He's okay against the pass but not great. His forte is run defense and pass rusher. He's good in some passes. Especially when he's playing deeper and everything is in front of him. But he should be used in the run game most of the game. He's a game changer there.

have I said that he isn't? I love how find lines that aren't even there and read between them

I've already said that he's as much of a liability as any SS in the game
