Give him credit: Roy is a beast in the run game..

That is our nickle and key situation defense, is it not?

Obviously we can count on them in this situation, why can't we just go with it full time?

because that opens you up to getting ran on, remember Wade's #1 priority is stopping the run

Are you saying that the real "Hammer" cannot stop the run???

Nice retort.

All you guys say you know football, but can't face the fact that his COACHES ARE HIDING HIM.

Makes you blind homers in my book.

If you watch the end of the Redsk*ns game, on the crucial down when Newman picks off the pass... where is the coaching staff "hiding" Roy?

Here's a hint, because I've watched that play several times. He's one-on-one with Cooley, absolutely blanketing him. Campbell looks his way immediately... Cooley is obviously his first option. Because of Roy's coverage, he has to look to the other side and ends up throwing the pick to T New.

That's the kind of play that Roy NEVER gets credit for, but it's a crucial play nonetheless.

You don't notice it, but I guarantee you that the coaches do. That's why, when the game is on the line, Roy is still on the field.

not really, just that type of package leaves you soft up the middle

It is not like we don't have a massive front 7. Also, 8 in the box is not something we do alot.

you can't stop the run successfully playing a nickel

do you know anything about football?

Dude, I'm not fighting all of you.

Even Roy admitted that the coaches didn't run it past him when they decided to take him off the field. HE admitted it. Point is that they're do what they can to limit him, hence my term of "hiding."

This isn't a Cowboyz88 conspiracy, it's the COACHES doing it.

Just because he's on the field in some instances, doesn't mean he isn't being limited in others.

okay, as thread starter, I want to ask one simple thing:

everyone just admit that Roy is a beast in the run game.. that's it.. you can think whatever else you want (and be wrong) about the rest of his game and complain in the 151262 other Roy threads about those things.. but this thread is for one thing and I'd like to see us all, as Cowboy fans, unite in this one thing: ROY IS A BEAST IN THE RUN GAME.. just say it.. admit it.. you'll feel better, trust me..

Bob, some people will always hate RW . . . . just not worth it. I just glad I can enjoy my Cowboys' victories and not nit pick over every little pass, etc.

How many plays was he not on the field tonight?

No. Obviously I don't.

It wouldn't be a nickle if we were in our regular 3-4.

Or did i miss something?

They are saving him for the second season by hiding him on the field somewhere. Hey that could be the next Christmas gotta have puzzle, where is Roy? Is he covering a WR, TE, RB, FB, QB or who. Only $199.99 at toy stores near you. LOL

our nickel is 6 DBs and 1 LB

Yeah, I get that.

What I was proposing was in our REGULAR defense, starting Watkins and Hamlin.

Somehow your getting confused saying we will be soft in the middle when we cut Roy in the offseason.

If you think Roy is getting cut you are delusional bro

Probably. I am just saying that I will not be surprised.

He is not worth his contract, anyway you slice it.

I guess I'm really tired right now, because I thought you were switching to talkign about using the nickel more predominantly to hide Roy

name 2 strong safeties better than Roy

for the love of all that's holy, i just want at least one hater to come out of the closet..

admit. that. Roy. is. a. beast. in. the. run. game.

not okay, not above average, he is an absolute beast in the run game. admit it.

Ronnie Lott, Ken Houston, Paul Krause, Larry Wilson and Willie Wood would be strong contenders but if you mean now Roy is still top 3 in the league and has years to go to be considered a top safety.
