The problem is this is too late to affect this season.

They aren't making the playoffs because they still have holes and their DC blows.

Not sure how anyone could dislike this trade for Dallas.
You gave up all of 2nd rounder this year to shore up a position you have failed to fix for at least 5 seasons.
Instead of a 2nd round rookie DT you are plugging in an All-Pro DT.
You also move 2.5M in dead money off in regularly inactive Mazi Smith.

Jerry is still an idiot but the Parsons, Pickens and QW trades have been superb.

It’s a great move except nothing matters without the QB.

So…if they use picks to draft a franchise QB while using this move to improve the defense then we’re on to something.

If not we will continue to get boat raced by young promising QB’s in our own Division.

These last two games by Dak are very concerning and he avoided a serious injury last night.

This is 100% a “thing”. Players that have left for other teams have alluded to this, notably DLaw. The Dallas environment is toxically soft and that absolutely affects players and their contributions on the field on some level.

Nobody doubts Williams is a quality player but it's an odd trade. This season is done. He will be almost 29 years old when we get into the nuts and bolts of the 2026 season. Will he still be an All Pro player?

I just fear that the move actually holds back the Cowboys to have teams that can compete for several years and how it will be sustainable given the salary cap especially with Pickens and Williams potentially being retained plus the $231 million guaranteed money to Prescott on that 4 year contract.

Not moaning just thinking about the actual long term benefit.

DTs usually age well. If you look at the best DTs in the league this season - Sexy Dexy, Vea, Derrick Brown, Leonard Williams, Jeffrey Simmons, Cam Heyward, etc - most are in their late 20s or 30s.
