So we are going to quibble over him putting them at 28 to start the year but you say they could be 24th-ish?

Yes. Consider me a quibbler, if you must. But 24th is at one extreme.

At the other? I could go as high as 12th probably.

So, yes... being consistent... I'd also quibble had someone said they were the 8th best.

But then, my career doesn't depend on people reading what I say or write about sports in Dallas, Texas. So, I suppose I have the advantage that I don't have to spark outrage.

I think with Romo and all of our defense we would be ranked in top 15.

I'm not sure how many teams with a potential bottom tier defense and 3 of their most talented defenders out along with4th rd Rookie QB starting would be ranked in top 15 to begin the season?

I'd challenge anyone to find someone out there who does besides some fans on their own site.
So then last year's defense was an anomaly when they ranked middle of the pack? Or are you simply saying they got worse by adding Scandrick back to the roster. No, no I got it! No more Nick Hayden - huge loss there!

Seriously though this team will be ranked in the top 15. Call me a Homer. Tell me I'm drunk on the looks of. Just be prepared to explain away why you were wrong.

I recall last years defense being ranked 18th? And that was with a much improved passing defensive stats credited to opponents not needing to risk throwing the ball with leads in the 2nd half and 4th qtr which also was credited to league low in turnovers.

You actually believe our defense is going to be stronger without Rolando, D Law and Gregory?

And there won't be any effects with Romo out?

I'm not saying we won't surprise . I'm just saying it's not going to be predicted outside the Cowboy fanbase.

Can't read Gosselin's articles. Don't mind criticism, but his is never constructive. Same with Mac Engle. His articles always play out like he's butt-hurt about the cowboys for some reason. As for Gosselin being a fan of another team, that's fine, just don't let get in the way of writing. Sturm is a Green Bay fan, yet I really enjoy his articles.

Actually from NFL .com it was 17th ranked defense in 2015. Passing was 5th which was well documented as I said above unless of course you disagree with those analysis . Our rushing defense was 22nd which is where I'd more likely rank our defense overall last year without the exceptions mentioned.

It likely won't be predicted by the mediots near and abroad due to fear of challenging the status quo. And since the status quo is ultimately driven by what gets clicks, and what sales ad space/commercial time, the majority is taking the lazy approach by removing context and simply looking at the shell of the Cowboys situation. No Romo. Rookie QB. Rookie running back. Dez/Scandrick returning from injury - will they be the same? Etc. All this while ignoring what Zeke brings behind that ol and the positive effect that will have on the entire team, and how Dak has looked simply because it was preseason.

Of course but I'd like to think if this was other teams we'd be downscaling them with their franchise QB out starting a Rookie QB and the suspended players on defense out.

I'm not sure how far it downgrades our projections for this season at least early but surely you'd agree it does ? How far is definitely arguable.

Not on sure on that. If I was Giants fan, and yet I knew about that ol, Dez, Zeke, what Dak has done so far, and, of course, all of the Giants in-house issues I'm not gonna be all that confident about this hanging my hat on Romo's injury.... but that's just me.

Goose was good for his draft day mock drafts and once he quit that he has been a waste of a read.

I don't have a problem if he does not think the cowboys will be good however he was shown to be a liar a few years ago when someone called him out for always picking the cowboys to lose on season. He explained that he felt they were a bad team but only picked them to lose on the road and picked them to win at home so as to be even handed...only for someone to point out to him that he also picked them to lose at home and call him out for making that up.

Writing/saying whatever he can in the desperate pursuit of readers.

This is a new low, really, but maybe I just don't read his columns as often as others do. Can make an argument for anything between 10-20... maybe even 21, 22.

He asserts that we are #28 of 30 going into the season.

http://sportsday.***BANNED-URL***/d...nkings-cowboys-even-crack-top-25-start-season

So the Cowboys are starting a Rookie QB, Rookie RB, coming off a 4-12 record, Defense looks like garbage once again, three suspended players including two defensive ends.....and Yet Goose is the problem!!......some are still drunk on the Jerry Jones koolaid

LOL..........yep and Jason Carrott is a hall of fame coach in the making and they are bronzing his statue out in front of Cowboys stadium right now!!!!!!
