Grade Lance's performance

Keep in mind, he didn't have CeeDee...

Any hope for the future?

Or is he simply an average/mediocre QB who can't be a franchise guy?

No shame in being a career backup, but that's not why we traded for him. I really wish he had more than 1 game to show what he could do.
Even though I’ve been negative about him, he should have been starting since Dak went down. He brings a new element to this thing.

I hope we keep him. No guarantee Dak returns to his previous level. Prescott is so damn slow
If we weren't going to play him this year, I hope he goes somewhere & gets an opportunity to get some real playing time. Find out what he can or can't do with starters.

B. Our scheme doesn’t do our offense any favors especially when Ceedee is out of the line up.

What he really looked like was a guy we wanted to see play an extended stretch of games this year and it's another front office fail that he didn't.

You gained nothing playing Cooper Rush.
They might sign Lance.

As a backup: A-
As a starter: C

Accuracy problems, pockets awareness, cant see the field, footwork, etc…Sam Darnold and Carson Wentz said hold my beer. How many yards did Rush throw for in his first full game this season?

Watching him today I see why they didn't play him. He's not good. He can't make simple throws. If they are evaluating talent for next year or trying to win games then Rush made sense. I can't evaluate guys with Lance.
Watching him today showed that he has a lot of potential. You can't evaluate guys with Lance? Tolbert had the best game of his career today. Mingo had 3 targets. 2 catches right on the money and drew a pass interference.

The element of not throwing a single touchdown pass in the entire season. He is pyrite in the red zone. No touch at all.

I mean actual credible games. Today wasn't a real game. It was a throwaway. Commanders are already in playoff mode. Rico averaged 3.3 yards a carry one of his worst yards this year. And it isn't coincidence. I would've played Lance but I understand why they didn't. The simple throws he simply can't make. He lacks tough on his throws in the red zone area. And for a 4 year pro he shouldn't. What comes natural to a guy like Jayden Daniels doesn't to Lance.

It would be good to have him as qb 2 next year.
That would be great, but he really would have to make a jump in the offseason in accuracy and reading defenses.
He looks better everytime he has the chance to play, so...
Who knows, it might happen, especially if Rush gets some dollars somewhere else.

C

He just cannot throw with any touch. Did great moving in the pocket, evading thr rush and hitting on some slants and crossers. Just... anything thats not basically throw a fastball he has no accuracy.

That touchdown he missed to Rico.....I don't think i've ever seen someone do that. That told me he just doesn't have it. A four year pro even with limited game age can make that throw. that's something Rush could do easily.
