Grade Lance's performance

He is probably the biggest disappointment to me this season.
I agree with your C grade and 4 years in, he is probably a career backup. However biggest disappointment? To me its Guyton hands down. He better move in with Duke Manyweather this off season because at this point I am not seeing an average NFL LT in the making.

Guyton is definitely #2 for me. Was just hopeful that a former #1 round QB pick like Lance would've been hope for the future.

Guyton is definitely a disappointment though. It was just his rookie year but he looks like the penalty machine everyone though Tyler Smith was going to be. Unfortunate so far.

Solid C+.

Probably good have helped us out some this year. Yeah, we wouldn't have been as efficient, but we would've had more splash plays. And in a lost season, that would've given us something to be excited about.

He's got all the tools and for a while, we looked like a real modern NFL offense, making big plays and such. He's able to do things neither of our other QBs can do. Just a shame he can't put it all together.
He needs to play football.

What he really looked like was a guy we wanted to see play an extended stretch of games this year and it's another front office fail that he didn't.

You gained nothing playing Cooper Rush.

I'd give him a B-. He had some good moments, saw him go through his progressions a few times and hit his 2nd and 3rd options, had passes with some zip but could use some touch on the endzone passes, used his legs well.....I think he looked calm and composed and didn't panic too much under pressure. I wish he hit that pass to Rico on 4th down.

Keep in mind, he didn't have CeeDee...

Any hope for the future?

Or is he simply an average/mediocre QB who can't be a franchise guy?

No shame in being a career backup, but that's not why we traded for him. I really wish he had more than 1 game to show what he could do.
C+

Just uneven performance.

Issue wasn't lack of weapons. He just was off the mark a lot. Simple throws or what I would consider to be simple throws.

I'm more intrigued now then I was before the game though.

But its clear to me there are some throws he simply can't make and maybe it comes better with repetition in in-game action.

If the option is him or Cooper Rush....give me Lance.

Such a missed opportunity. You can see the potential, clear as day.

He could've got had 5 or six real games to get better and we decided to start Cooper Rush for no reason at all.

Watching him today I see why they didn't play him. He's not good. He can't make simple throws. If they are evaluating talent for next year or trying to win games then Rush made sense. I can't evaluate guys with Lance.

Yeah people keep talking this potential crap....

Some of these guys have been here too long at some point you are what you are. Not to say he can't get better but its clear someone was off base with his draft grade in San Fran.

B-
He looked like a guy making his 5th start. He looked like a rookie.

After this many years in the league, I'd hope he'd be a little better.

BUT, nothing beats actual game experience.

In the hands of a more competent QB coach/OC/HC I think he still has potential, but his window is closing

I'd give him a solid "B". He had about 2 or 3 bad passes. About the NFL average. Better redzone play calls he could of had his first win as a Dallas q.b. I was pleasantly surprised by him.

Exactly this.

Would have liked to see him after getting a string of starts and with the offense tweaked for him.

They had a golden opportunity and blew it.

B-

Good arm strength and has good speed and athleticism

He was inaccurate on some of his throws but he was also very late - receivers need to wait for the ball. This can be improved upon by more quality reps in practice and better coaching

Much higher ceiling than Rush - I would look at trying to keep him
