Funny. If someone only looked at your post, almost could have confused it with a Dak critique…:cool:
D-

No throws to the interior of the field. One read and take off. Only sees half of the field. Only takes the ball in shotgun. Every passing play is a rollout play leaving half of the field unused.

No touch on the ball. Inconsistent. Poor accuracy. Zero ability to throw the receiver open. No anticipation ability.

He is every defensive coordinators wet dream. A two year old could easily build a game plan against him.

So why did we trade for him?
Because the team is run by an 82 year old imbecile who makes emotional decisions all the time and thought it would put pressure on Dak. Only to turn around and give Dak the biggest contract ever. We are pathetic and the agents play us like morons and we trade away 4th round picks for guys like Trey lance and Mingo. There is no turn around here folks. This thing only gets worse and worse until someone has to step in.

Currently, the Dallas Cowboys do NOT have a franchise QB on their roster and that includes Lance.

Didn't see anything that we couldn't get with any number of free agent quarterbacks that will be available in 2025.

If you just need somebody to keep the seat warm while you draft and develop a future starter.

Or Rush, if he'll stay.

I would give him a C+
He made some really nice throws on deep crossing routes in the middle. He has elite arm strength but lacks consistency and really lacks touch. He is very raw and needs a lot of playing time but even then it's hard to say how much he will get better. From what I've read he had a total of 26 starts between HS and college.

C+ or B-. He’s effective bc he’s athletic. But he isn’t the gamer that Cooper Rush is he doesn’t understand football as well.

I didn't see one "gamer" issue with Lance's performance. He answered each WAS drive with points opportunities.

He missed the Dowdle throw but pretty much moved the football into scoring range all day.

The RZ woes definitely weren't unique to Trey Lance's performance yesterday. And no CeeDee on the field and Ferguson was a disaster yesterday all afternoon.

Some fans want the kid to Be a failure.

Dont understand it.
He's been a failure. Shanahan knows Qbs and even he couldn't fix him.

I would have LOVED him to turn his game around and give us a way better backup than Rush.....I'm not seeing much better at this point though

B-

If the play-caller didnt go completely brain dead in the red zone, the team scores 27-30 points and the overall feeling surrounding the game is much different. Individually the flaws are obvious but overall I think he acquitted himself well for a backup playing his first game in 2 years.

I kinda get that, given that Lance has been standing on the sideline with hands in pockets for five years.

Feel the same way about Deuce. The guy could probably do some surprising things if he actually got into the game for a few plays in a row.

The Cowboys have an idiotic, myopic mindset when it comes to player development. They make up their minds beforehand who their "guys" are. ("We like our guys.") Anybody else gets the odd play, here or there, and if it's not a big play, back to the bench they go.

Dowdle would have never gotten out of the blocks had Zeke not crashed & burned. Jerry doesn't care who can play, or who can't. He wants "name guys" everywhere. Jersey sales, and all that.
I don’t think playing time fixes the issues of Vaughn and Lance…but I do agree they should’ve been playing. If you want to continue this prayer of hope for the playoffs? I get it. But we’ve been out of it for weeks. And still didn’t see them. Embarrassing.

I give a B. he moved us up and down the field, and think we need a few better plays to emphasize his abilities within the red zone... along with better RZ plays overall, especially from 5 and in.

more experience in those situations will give him that.
That’s not an experience thing. That’s a pass Lance has been making since high school. You either have touch on your throws or not. Rookie mistakes you can live with. But there is an issue when guys like Will Grier and Tanner McKee can make these throws without playing time….
