LMAO!!! The degree of hatred and desperateness is astounding in this thread. I can't wait for the epic meltdown, whining, crying and insults (added with threats of leaving but you never leave) that are certain to follow once Dak gets extended this offseason!

Jerry's luck would be he doesn't extend him then Dak takes the Cowboys to the Super Bowl and instead of 60 million a year in becomes 75 million a year for 5 years.

Fans hot to be fans. Jerry talks and the media and fans eat it up. Keeps Dallas in the news and fans on both sides of the Dak issue always argue ongoing. He is controlling the narrative and always will.

What will he really do? Guess we will just have to wait.

And waste 3-5 years with your core stars. And that’s if you get lucky and don’t draft a bust.
Yes. Not draft a bust. But you have to try to win within the first 5 years. It gets harder when the QB is off his rookie contract. Unless you have Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes.

These guys are saying what I said a couple weeks ago. But you could read that from Jerry’s actions. Most people have motivations for their actions including Jerry. The first step was trading for Trey Lance. The first doubt was the blowout loss to the 49ers. The second doubt was the prime time losses to more physical teams, e.g., the Bills. The third and biggest doubt was Dak once again starting slow and then collapsing into two picks during the first half of the playoff game. There is just too much money involved to extend Dak with an even more costly contract based on the way things played out during the season for an even more improbable chance at the SB due to that much money being tied up in one player who just isn’t good enough to carry a team.

Yep. The competence of the QB determines where you go with that second contract. Dak Prescott isn't Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. He is a very very average QB who needs to be carried. And if that is what you have you don't do something as dumb as making him the highest paid QB in the league, regardless of what happens to the salary cap.

And how old will Micah, Lamb, Diggs, Tyler and the other top players be?
