Can you PLEASE try to keep this on topic? ;)

We are discussing guitar lines...not entire songs.

Oh, trust me, I know you will.... often, your posts have me within an inch of sticking my head in the oven...

Catchy riff? Nah...you mean that ascending bass line? Nah... GONG...sorry, your consolation prize is a T-shirt and a copy of the home game..

We're talking guitar lines here like "Layla"...although I grudgingly admit, you listed some very good ones earlier..

how about "Last Train To Clarksville"...or "Hey Bulldog"...?

I just saw them live last week...7th row, center *patting myself on the back*...they were GREAT...Glen Frey sang "around" a few notes...but Henley was dead on...and Joe Walsh was his usual, crazy entertaining self...

Timothy Schmit might just be the nicest human being to ever walk the planet...

All in all, an amazing show.

yeah yeah... ascending bass line... but some fun axe-work in the midst... you miss the subtle stuff... (as Winky has pointed out... ya know...flowers are not out of order even for a Canadian)

Oh... and let me add Johnny Cash and anything he did with his "boom-chicka- boom" style... a true American original...

I have listened to quite a bit of their work. I grew up in the south, with a classic rock loving father and around guitarists. For me to say their body of work isn't awesome would be absurd - too many people disagree who are knowledgable.

But that doesn't mean I like them.

Any Boston song.....

...yes I know they often sound similar....but what a good friggin sound.

Dunno if anyone cares, but about 2 years ago they put out an album called "Corporate America." They also added a REALLY hot femaile singer. I saw them in concert for my 20th birthday. One of the best I had ever been to. The album was great, too.

VERY well done...I particularly like Funk49, which had a KILLER line...and Joe Satch...I'd add that guitar line in Surfing with the Alien, also...

I don't think I have ever heard anything by Carlos Santana that I didn't like.

Anyone that remembers toxic Waltz and the exodus version of lowrider is ok in my book....also Mr Scary is a very wicked piece of guitar work...however I would go with kiss of death over Alone Again.....oh and gotta love Joe Walsh...I liked him MUCH better when he is not with the eagles...not really a big fan of the eagles.

I saw the Eagles in concert a few weeks ago...Joe Walsh took the building down...in fact, they were great...but he's got that very unique Joe Walsh energy about him...and he's a VERY talented guitarist...

Rocky Mountain Way might have been the highlight of the evening...esp with the talkbox...
