Hey Greg, so far it looks pretty nice, it's just tricky adjusting to something new when I spent so long on the other one and got used to it. Going to miss some of those folks. I think it was such a fertile troll playground because the team does own it.

Anyway, I was cutting back on my forum time anyway as I am undertaking some new things that will take more time.

And I sure hope that Booger nickname doesn't stick with me. Be ironic, wouldn't it? They let you beat on ole Booger over here? It's not the same though is it? That's what used to get me jazzed, insulting him on his own site. I used to fantasize that he was up late at night reading my posts, eyes floating in his head with the mixture of JW Blue and the tears poor ole CC was bringing to his eyes. Then I decided to fantasize about women instead.

It's funny . The typical bullying gang back there are blaming me for the new Admin.
And your departure .

It's wayyyyy past time for all of the rules to be followed there. Ksk tried to get it under control but didn't have enough power. It really went back to Emperor who was banned because he couldn't handle the attacks on the Cowboys and appointed himself head troll Hunter which much of the gang still exist.

And she gave me a couple of timeouts in recent months both about political comments. She's actually been around for at least a couple of months now.

I'm still over there but in a lesser role until they rein in the bullying gang.

Sarcasm is definitely tasty food. The evil queen and I exchanged a few PM's. I told her that she handled things wrong and made suggestions. She thanked me for reaching out and said she'd consider my suggestions. We'll see how it goes, I guess.

I think I pretty much burned the bridge with her upon exiting and they did a really poor job of training her for that gig. I am going to hang here for a while but I am still looking for a less family friendly Cowboys site to get my cuss on. I will respect their rules here, and Idgit's kind "warning" was not lost on me, but when I don't get to express myself with colorful language, innuendo and act like a 15 year old on puberty overdrive, I get cranky.

I love Sarek, dude is great. He already got his own welcome thread closed, that may be a record here. He was one that I really liked exchanging posts with because he's so black and white about his opinions.

I've posted in both types of sites over the years. I don't really like friendly families all that much myself, so I don't mind mixing it up. What the restrictions do though is keep the focus on the football talk. There's an art to mocking another guy's argument without going straight to cracks about licking their backsides. I'm sure Sarek will figure it out if he sticks around.

Trolls are part of a forum setting. They advised us to ignore and or report but too many tried to take it on themselves .

Their rules clearly states that attacks on the Cowboys were allowed while personal attacks on members were not. It's a double standard but one either members didn't understand or blatantly ignored?

How many times did they recommend to ignore instead of adding fuel to the fire ? There were these few who didn't and the sites fault they were not disciplined from the beginning. So , after all of these years are struggling to finally adhere to the rules. I applaud the new Admin. She had an extremely tough job but a few members either need to get in line or get out.

If he starts that on his old forum, he'll be gone. He's one that likes to get something going and comes straight on and he could do that a lot easier before they went on this "cleanse". The mods are all ex posters so they had relationships with old timers like me and they let stuff slide and I did push the envelope probably too far.

I was invited. several years ago. to another site by a member there that was PM targeting posters and I checked it out and it was X rated and a little too in your face for me. The first post I read was a mod with a profanity laced tirade at some posters in general. That one was family friendly, Manson family, Hills Have Eyes and the Wrong Turn brothers.

The problem was that once that starts, it takes off faster each time and posts you made that were not intended to evoke that kind of response got it anyway. It went too far and got too personal and I could understand your reactions.

I'm glad you like it here and find it friendlier and I am going to give it a shot but you know what I like to do and I'm not sure that will fly here anymore than it would on the old forum now. There is just so much that can be said on any given topic before it gets redundant and boring and I do have that challenge with adult ADD and a too freely flowing stream of consciousness. Some tolerated that on the old forum, we'll see here because if I keep that in check, I become depressed.

The problem you run into on sports sites with few rules is that sports discussions are inherently a one-upmanship process. When someone insults another user, that user usually tries to one-up the insult, then the original user tries to one-up that insult, and it continues. Eventually, it gets really nasty after one or both sides run out of one-up insults. That's when it devolves into nothing more than offensive name calling and vulgar comments.

There are plenty of sites on the internet where people can say whatever they want and not a thing will be done to them. Since CZ launched in 2004, the goal for the site has been to provide a safe place for Cowboys fans to get together and discuss the Cowboys. We allow negative Cowboys posts here as long as that's not the only thing a user is posting. At that point, it makes them seem more likely to be a troll from another team pretending to be a Cowboys fan just to irritate actual Cowboys fans here.

The site is run by the staff, all of whom were selected by the staff, not the admins, over the years. Every action taken by any staff member is reviewed by the entire staff, which makes it nearly impossible for one staff member to power trip. It's a great system that has worked for the site for over 12 years.

I hope you and others who are new to the site will give CZ a chance and enjoy the site for what it is! If you don't, there's no hard feelings. As I always tell people, spend your time on sites that you enjoy.

I can imagine any of your material not floating here. You were not one of the problems over there.

Actually , you were one of the most entertaining.

But everyone regardless of how they conduct their fandom , negative , positive , half full or empty glass must all have the same equal rights without taking personal attacks and insults .

Too many became frustrated with endless debates resorting to the personal attacks and insults which they must refrain from doing so.

Definitely am going to give this a shot because I love the Boys but I love having fun more but not at another poster's expense. On the old forum, I'd been there long enough that the ones there to talk serious football and only that either had me on ignore or just passed on my posts. I like to talk football and the Boys but I also have a tendency to drift and am stimuli responsive in threads.

In the old forum, I was appointed Grand Poobah of the Post Jackers Guild because of my propensity to drift and I joked about postjacking but it really wasn't intentional or disrespectful, it is just the way my brain works. There was a group of us that spent a lot of time, read that as too much time, on the forum and even though they'd provided a Fireside Chat room for everything not Cowboys, we still goofed around in the regular threads but we did talk football and are all Boys fans. In fact the threads that ended up with the most pages were titled "These posts about bacon", "Random Thoughts" and my favorite "This thread is about nothing" went on for weeks and topped 200 pages. There are some really funny people in that other forum.
