DE Sack-Artist Greg Hardy Headed To Valley Ranch To Meet With Cowboys Tuesday

Nick Eatman

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys didn’t have a fast start to free agency like a few others did last week, but things are certainly picking up, evident by free-agent Greg Hardy’s scheduled visit with the club at Valley Ranch on Tuesday.

The former Panthers defensive end, who missed all but one game in 2014 after being on the NFL Commissioner’s exempt list for a domestic violence charge, will meet with the Cowboys’ coaches, scouts and front-office personnel with the possibility of signing before he leaves the building. However, Hardy also reportedly has a visit scheduled for the Seahawks as well.

Hardy had an All-Pro season in 2013, recording 15 sacks, which followed an 11 sack season in 2012. Even in the one game he played last season, Hardy recorded a sack, giving him 34 in 63 career games.

This is terrible by Shefter....

1. The Cowboys can create 20m of cap room in about 3 seconds.
2. Signing Hardy is a sign they are going to try and win it all this year and this getting AP might even be MORE likely after Hardy as opposed to the frugal conservative ways of the past season plus.

give him a break, he's been working on a bigger story the last 8 months.

So who is going to play the left side? As I understand it both Lawrence and Hardy generally play the right side and were really made to play the right side. Will we be losing something that made Hardy so great if we ask him to play the left side and will our team be losing something if we have Hardy and Lawrence, two guys we have so much invested in, to switch off.

Everything i have read has said Lawrence would move to the left side.

They'll move Lawrence to the left side and have Hardy on the right. Atleast that's what was just said on talkin' cowboys anyway. They said that Hardy would be rotating with Mincy. fwiw

Carr's situation is likely that they aren't panicking.
They know they aren't paying Carr his current deal and he knows it.
The longer Dallas waits for the market and draft to occur the more info it has as to how much it is willing to pay him.

If 27 is a CB perhaps Carr is simply cut.
If we don;t draft a CB til round 4 and Mo is still limping along then maybe we make a very different deal to buy another year.

Dallas has all the leverage as they can release Carr at any point and it costs them less in June.

Lots of good CBs as 27 (or even trading back to the beginning of the 2nd) so that doesn't seem that unlikely, especially if we get Hardy. I would love going Williams, Bennett, Johnson 1-2-3.

So character is only related to a player's availability to the team? We agree brudda.

That's not the entire thing.

The 3 J's era in Dallas ended very badly as Jimmy Jackson and Jason Kidd fought over Toni Braxton and basically hated each other.
T.O. was often available but not a good teammate.
He led a downright mutiny that he lost. The teammates closest to him: Choice, Crayton followed on his heels.

the way the cowboys use it is NOT annoying.

the way every curd chewing agenda pushing hate mongering toe-nail clipping eating fuzzy fool has to shove it into every personal issue they have with a player and make it mean something it isn't just cause they had to eat toe-nails is HIGHLY annoying.

or something

This is the one signing S. Jones has got to make happen today, no letting Hardy visit Seattle, get this thing done.

The most important free agent signing, get it done!

Depends on Hardy's contract. If they get a 3-4 year deal then it isn't necessarily a win this year mentality.

I would be extremely shocked if they showed amazing restraint to let Murray go and then go absolutely crazy with the money to go ALL IN thereafter.[/quote]

So we trade up because we must draft a RDE, then we are going to have him play the left side... where he is not that good... anyway?

Welp, since Seattle is involved; I'll go ahead and say he'll be wearing a Seahawks jersey next season.

Back to back years in the Superbowl for a contract around the same Dallas will throw at him? Yeah, easy choice.

This sucks.

Wait, I thought Seattle doesnt build their team through free agency.

If reduced or zero state income tax is a significant enticement in contract negotiations, why is it that the majority of free agent players do not automatically seek the Jaguars, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Texans, Seahawks, and Titans as their first choice of new team each year?

Wrong guy. That was Najeh Davenport, who was drafted by the Packers.

You're thinking of Cecil Collins, who broke into a woman's home that he was stalking.

No he has the right guy. Najeh Davenport left a wet snicker bar to his ex-girlfriend in her closet as a parting gift.
