I honestly don't get how he was suspended 10 games and then a whole year.

Please someone explain to me how Bell has now had multiple counts of weed use and only missed three games? I'm genuinely confused and would like to know the difference in what they did.

Bell has tested positive 4 times. Gregory is now on 6 or 7. That's why.

Next time, Bell will get 10 games.

Good riddance. It's not like their losing a lot. I hear about all the potential he has but it doesn't matter if you can't get on the field.

What a crock.

Go ahead and drink and drive, and get addicted to opiate painkillers, but don't smoke a plant for anxiety and then miss a league test while in rehab, or you can't play football for a year.

Absolute horse ****

That's the agreement the players representatives and the NFL agreed to. It's absolutely stupid in my opinion too, but that's the agreement both sides signed. The players need some better lawyers next time.

Another uneducated person on this board. Amazing. If it was as much of a disease as stubbing your toe, the amount of people in treatment centers wouldnt be as high as it is. In your country or mine. Id love to see you watch a person detox from heroin and tell me its not a disease.
I have watched someone detox from heroine and I will still tell you it's not a diesease. I will never get sick and my doctor tell me I got a bad case of heroine addiction. Where exactly is that virus?

Just cut this chump... Waste of a roster space.... Biggest freaking letdown this guy is.... We all knew it was going to happen
No need to release him. He will cut himself if he keeps this up. I believe an indefinite suspension is next.

He will keep being tested over the next year. If he fails another test, he is done. But until then, keep him around. Be costs no money nor a roster spot.

No chance in the playoffs next year. In a year he can apply for reinstatement. Do you think there is any chance that would get granted as a Cowboy player leading into the playoffs?

so in one year hes "elgible" to apply for reinstatement? and i bet reinstatement isnt done fast...

so ...2018 his possibly timetable then?

Those arguing over the timing of the suspension are clearly more concerned about the playoffs than the player, and that's okay, but he was going to get the suspension regardless. This way there's a chance he could be playing again at the end of next season..........or never.

Here is the problem I have, Le'Veon Bell missed THREE drug tests. Two because he "couldn't get to the team facility to take the test because he had surgery" and one because it was "5:37 in the morning and he was sleeping". Bell gets a three game suspension and stays at the same level in the substance abuse program. Meaning his next offense is a 10 game suspension.

Gregory misses two tests, one of which was because he was in rehab and he gets a 10 game suspension for the first test and a year banishment for the second missed test. By all accounts Bell should be Banished indefinitely if we apply the same standards that were used on Gregory as Bell has more missed tests and failed tests than Gregory.

So during this 1 year ban can he be tested again or can he smoke all the pot he wants?
He failed this time while he was suspended, so yes he will continue to get tested if he wants a chance to get back into the NFL. There might be a period of time during the off-season that they are not tested, but I don't know the details on that.

60 days earlier than a year....so 10 months and the application can begin. It's then up to the NFL when they decide to reinstate.

Sucks. But like I said, it's not a daycare, and it's not fair to those pulling their weight.

I have never seen any issues with pot, I work with a bunch of people who smoke and you'd never know.

Yes. You have to fail 4 times to be suspended. The first three are warnings. The fifth time is 10 games, then the 6th time, it's a year.
The first suspension is 4 games.

If Randy Gregory could simply just stop smoking weed, yall don't think he would? If an addict could simply stop doing drugs, don't yall think they would? I hope the young man can figure it out while he's out. He's a hell of a talent and if we didn't take the chance, someone else would have soon after. We've been burned so far but the story isn't over.

Cannot count on him as a player now, but I have concerns for him as a person. I do not want to hear about him getting arrested or having a life-threatening crisis. He is bi-polar and just cannot cope with it, as far as I have heard. What a shame.
