***Gurode released*** MERGED

Has anyone else noticed that the underachieving veterans on the offensive side of the ball have been released and the defense has went largely untouched?

Maybe he wants to give Ryan a year to figure out what changes need to be made on D.

Ravens sound logical.

The Hotel got to a SB last year; maybe Gurode will get to one this year the same way.

We can't get a draft pick for a pro bowl center? Really?

You can say whatever you want about the secondary, Pittsburgh and Baltimore have average secondaries and win superbowls. However gambling with the oline like this can cost us our season.

We had a superbowl caliber team 2 years ago but Colombo/Davis couldn't block anybody and of course it carried over into the next season. I hope these young guys hold up, one injury could kill us.

I thought you realized that he's not even a Dallas fan.

I seem to remember him be less outspoken and more pro Cowboys a couple of years ago.

Look at the numbers how many OLinemen do you keep on the 53 man roster.

Tyron Smith, Free, Holland and Kosier ... don't want to miss out on the young guns so we gotta keep Kowlaski, Arkin, Nagy, and Costa...prolly Parnell.

So after the 6-10 season we were begging for change. Now that we get changed everyone is like "OMG we're doomed, seasons over!"

I don't get it.

yeah some people are just Jerry Jones koolaid drinkers...

This team was 6-10 last year, starting quarterback was lost early in the season, running game was horrible with that veteran aging offensive line would couldn't get to the second level. I thought after the minnesota playoff game loss that Dallas needed to make wholesale changes along the offensive line, it took two years but clearly Garrett wanted these changes, and I for one, am glad he's taking charge out there with this team...

if anyone watched the playoff game and then put the tape in of the game last week, anyone could of seen that this young offensive line looked alot better than that old aging unathletic offensive line of two years ago

Not when he won't take a paycut and he's 32 years old, you can't. Those Pro Bowls are past history.

Teams knew we wouldn't pay him 6 million to be a 2nd string guy. Why would they want to acquire that salary? The Ravens could be interested, but they don't have 6 million to just throw around.

Right a change that would improve the team.

How are Holland and Brooking still on the team? Either do the re-build full out or not at all.

That's just a ridiculous way of thinking. We know Elam and Sensy aren't the long term answer at safety, and that Newman, James and Kosier's time is limited, so should we just cut everybody that is aging and become the Cleveland Browns for a few years?

Of course not - we have made some big strides now, but there is no sense in committing suicide. Rebuilding is a process and does not have to be all or nothing.

Um, really? Comparing a playoff game to a preseason game?

Beyond the obvious differences in game planning and intensity, did you notice that Kevin Williams didn't play the other night?

Gurode is past his prime, not worth the price for keeping him as a backup, he's not a starter anymore

And what do you base this on? He is a pro bowler and played great for us just last year? You people drink the kool-aid that having the star on your helmet automatically makes you great. AG is proven! Not to mention when Philly gets him it helps the them improve the worst part of their stacked team! This team is rebuilding and not a contender for anything other than getting Andrew Luck!!!! Wake the *** up people!!!! The talent on this team certainly has not improved.

Dallas has the talant on the roster to replace and ugrade Brooking with Cumming or Lemon.

If they did...they would.

They had the talent to replace and upgrade Davis and Gurode. So they did.

The lack of logic some of you display is mind boggling. Yes, Garrett has given up on the season. Good job.

Jimmy Johnson. 1989.

Do you remember the bevy of draft picks the Cowboys received in trade from Minnesota?

Newsflash: Many of those draft picks were not initially draft picks. The Cowboys received a number of veteran players for Herschel Walker -- veteran players that became draft picks because they played only a limited number of snaps.

Jimmy has admitted the 1989 team would've been better if he had played some of those players, but he didn't because he wanted the draft picks and knew the team would be better off in the long run. In essence, Jimmy sacrificed a season for the future good of the team.

I'm not stating with any level of certainty that Garrett is adopting Jimmy's strategy here. I'm merely conceding the possibility.
